I've heard the jokes about Kansas - how there's nothing there, it's boring, etc. Well, I've been on a journey to visit all 50 states. Kansas was my 46th state. I decided to drop my wife and her mom off at the mall and head to a local brewery in Mission. Sandhills ended up being my favorite brewery of the entire Central US trip. First, I like how they coordinate with a coffee shop in the plaza. My wife is a coffee connoisseur and would be on Cloud 9 with gourmet coffee while I'm on Cloud 9 with homemade beer! Secondly, the staff was second to none. They enjoy sharing stories with visitors. I especially was impressed with Joe's knowledge of Pittsburgh and the Church Brew Works! There is a board game and cornhole place next door so that large groups can enjoy some competitive spirit while imbibing. Finally, the beer is top-notch. I gave every beer at least a 4 out of 5 on Untappd. I am of the type to almost never give 5/5 for an individual beer unless it's memorable. The test tropical DIPA was refreshing for a 90 degree day and had the right amount of bitterness and flavor. It rivaled the Frank White NEIPA I had at J Wakefield Brewery in Miami. If you are in the KC area, Sandhills would be my first go-to for beer. Support Sandhills and its neighboring business! And Kansas has gems; you just...

The brewery isn't marked well so you might pass it even with Google Maps directing your path. Once we got inside, we were engulfed in a cloud of mash scent. Sandhills was brewing!
We were excited to see the breadth of flavor on the draft menu, from a barrel-aged pilsner to an experimental hazy IPA to a 9.8% Wee Heavy, and the list went on. This spot deserves it's higher customer reviews. We'll definitely...

We did two flights and were not disappointed. Hard to choose which ones for our growlers! (They are doing growler fills.) The staff were friendly, service was quick, and we enjoyed hanging out in the quiet side room. I could see this space getting crowded quickly on a busy day, with overflow on the patio in warmer...
