Not quite a fair rating, because the dining room was closed due to Hurricane Beryl damage. I'll revise it after our next visit. . I accosted a man leaving with a large bag, and asked him for his recommendation. He emphatically suggested the chicken and the spaghetti. So that's what we got. I ordered the regular, and my better half ordered the spicy after being assured it wasn't too spicy. . We waited perhaps 5 minutes, then left to eat in the car. That wasn't an optimal way to experience fried chicken and spaghetti, but home was 20 minutes away and it was raining, so a picnic was out. . My regular chicken was good. They served a leg and some mystery part. Half a breast maybe? It was as juicy as the stranger predicted, and the breading was nice and crunchy. My wife got the same pieces, but "spicy". The level of heat was minor. Like a spiciness you'd encounter in a hospital. Good tasting, but no flame. . The spaghetti was plentiful. The sauce was a good amount, with a sweetness to it that we weren't expecting. There were some sausage slices in it about 1/2" diameter; these reminded me of Chef Boyardee. . We were also given two little cups of gravy. For what, I'm not sure. . I got the pineapple drink with my meal. That was good, for sure. . Overall, we came away with the feeling we'd been dining in a foreign land. That wasn't unexpected, but the combination of familiar and strange left us more intrigued...
Read moreI was here in this Missouri City branch dining inside and at exactly 7:59 pm I saw people outside some with children trying to go in but failed to because the door was already locked ., this hasn’t been the first time I witnessed this . In the website it says the business close at 9 pm . Why then was the door locked way earlier than closing time . I was told sometimes they do this when they are short- staffed . My goodness , other food chain will never do this even in times of being shot in staff . This is inconsiderate, unprofessional and no consideration to costumers traveling thinking that it’s way before closing time.. this is not a valid excuse to close way early and the business doesn’t even bother posting something on the door why they locked the door . No wonder this branch is not making enough revenue because of this . I will not even be surprised if this close for business in no time . It’s bad enough this business is right next to a McDonalds and for a business who has unpredictable business timeframe is reflective of what kind of a manager this branch has. BAD BUSINESS STRATEGY . You are bearing the name of a business with a name representing your origin and food culture . Please think beyond the small box . Please at least exercise professionalism in terms of work ethics . Huwag na ninyong dalhin dito yung utak...
Read moreI went at a weird time: 10am. Not quite breakfast but not yet lunch. They had everything available so I went with the Chickenjoy with spaghetti. I opted out of the drink and went with a peach mango pie.
The chicken was AWESOME!! I did the spicy (not really all that spicy but great flavor.) The crust was very crispy and light. Literally not excess grease. If they had a breast it might surpass all other chicken places. I thought it was wonderful and the gravy was really good to.
The spaghetti was a little strange. It’s my first time having Philipino food so I didn’t know what to expect. Definitely edible but just a little too sweet for my liking. It reminded me a little of the way Japanese or Vietnamese add sweetness to their flavoring at first but by the end it was more Chef Boyardee-esque. All in all I’d probably skip it next time and go for more chicken or try another side but nothing I would be mad to eat again. Give it a try!
Now... the peach mango pie! SWEET LORD IN HEAVEN!!!! That pie was other worldly! I mean fantastic. I will struggle not to stop here multiple times a week for one of those pies... really really good and definitely the star...
