Nixon's Midtown — Restaurant in Mobile

I absolutely love this place! This little hidden gem is on Old Shell Rd., adjacent from Dew Deop Inn, and let me tell you, this place is amazinggggg!!!! The food is amazing, especially the spinach dip. The spinach dip was the best spinach dip I've ever had. And the bread they have to go with it is sooooo gooooddddddd. The Mid Town Dip is soooo gooodddd as well. The roast beef and the dipping sauce are just perfect!!! The green beans are to die for!!! They are too good. They used to have collard greens that were to die for, but no, the green beans are just too good and perfect!!!! This place is just a vibe. It used to be a pharmacy, but it has that kind of an old timey feel to it with a modern twist. And Elizabeth was freaking amazing. She was so sweet, kind, attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable. She was so friendly and personable. She talked to us, gave us some amazing suggestions, and she was just so nice. She is honestly one of the best bartenders we've ever had/encountered. She's just one of those people that you would love to be friends with, you know? Nixon's also has a lot of good beers on tap, too. The Blue Steel beer was phenomenal and a great suggestion from Elizabeth!!! 10/10 definitely recommend...

Nixon's Midtown was great....from the atmosphere to the service to the food! It was really hard to believe it was their first week!! The place was packed. The service was fast and Sarah was awesome, funny and attentive. The food was delicious! There were 4-5 appetizers, 15 unique sandwiches and wraps and a few salads. All were served in disposable baskets so not fancy , but delicious! The tuna app was my favorite; served with a wasabi aioli. The Midtown Dip and Adult Grilled Cheese were delicious and the tuna wrap had a tangy slaw wrapped with perfectly seared strips of tuna steak. They also have a kids menu and a few desserts as well. I loved how they preserved the name and some of the pharmacy decor pieces from the old Nixons drugstore. There was a pool table to one side of the restaurant with a half wall divider which gave the room a bit of a bar-feel to it, however it was well lit and definitely kid friendly on the Sunday night we were there. Our entire experience was spot on from start to finish. The waitress/bartender was genuinely pleasant. She went over and beyond to find me some keto options to drink. I ordered the club/no bread and green beans as my side. My husband got the New Yorker with potato salad as his side. Everything was delicious!! The greens were a meal in itself. There was smoked meat throughout and seasoned perfectly. My club was also exceptional. The honey mustard made it even more tasty. They aren't afraid of piling the meat on, so bring your appetite.
