Saturday we came to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. I booked a table through google/open table for 10 people weeks prior and my bf's sister had booked a table for 10 as well since it would not allow me an option to book more then 10 people which was lame. My bfs sister got there before us and I was able to meet with her in line, she had already spoke to the receptionist so she was able to get her seating and I was told I was able to sit with them until a table opens up for my reservation and was also advised we might be separated due to availability. We were seated at a 6 seat table in the bar area while we waited for the rest of our party. We were waiting for a while and no one has given me an update on our table or asked if we wanted a drink. Our guests start showing up and we still only have 6 seats out of the 20 we reserved. I went to the front desk and another person was there, I explained I made my reservation weeks ago and was told a table is not ready and to sit with my bfs sis at her table. There were two empty 6 seat tables right next to hers that have been empty since we were seated and only one was wiped down the other was still dirty. I asked the receptionist if i could just get that table, I was willing to wipe it down myself [our guests were showing up and no seats were accommodated until I had said something]. After explaining the scenario about 3 times she finally understood and gave the okay to have the next table. [A waiter was not told that we were getting the table next to us I had to tell the server so she can wipe it down.] Also, we didnt have a bar menu so had to go up to the bar to order, once myself and a friend got our drinks the server finally comes to our table. I would like to give appreciation to our server [didnt get her name] as well because the entire time we were there I only seen a handful of servers and it was busy and chaotic. I ate prior to arrival so I only ordered the truffle fries and shared and two Caribbean iced teas and double shot of Hennessy. The double shot of Hennessy was about $20, honestly better off buying a personal bottle lol and I've had stronger iced teas although it was good. We enjoyed ourself and had a good time the place is good I'd go back just not for the food due to the lack of service. I think they need to create 2 lines, one for those who reserved seating online and another for walk ups just so you dont miss your reservation because you have to wait in line so long. They need more servers to work a certain amount of tables to ensure guests are in and out rather than waiting long periods [because there were plenty of empty tables and lots of people in line for a long time.] I am just happy I didnt go the route of reserving a section for over $500, imagine spending that just for the service to be terrible and...

This Dave and Buster's in Modesto was an absolutely bizarre experience, and I can safely say I won't be returning. The security guards there were not just weird, but downright disrespectful and appeared to be acting strangely. My little sister and I were visiting with our parents, and we briefly stepped out into the mall. As we returned, we noticed the security guards were watching us closely. When we tried to re-enter, a male security guard greeted us with an unsettling smile and demanded to see our IDs. We were taken aback, thinking it might be a joke at first, but things quickly turned serious when we asked for clarification.
We attempted to return to our parents, but he blocked our way and started asking us to call our parents. We were extremely confused as he repeatedly claimed we couldn't come in. Then a female security guard joined in, insisting that we couldn't be at the bar. Strangely, there was no bar in our vicinity, and we had no intention of going to one.
They continued to provide conflicting information, even though it was evident they had watched us leave. It felt like they were conspiring against us and their behavior appeared biased. Encountering "Karen" behavior was something I never expected. At this point, I'm truly lost for words. The entire experience was mind-boggling. The lady security guard's actions were uncomfortable and nerve-wracking, as she touched me inappropriately. I can't emphasize enough how much more there is to explain, and you would grasp the situation better if I could provide all the details.
Those security guards are super weird and creepy, like they're straight out of a sci-fi movie. I'm never setting foot in this Dave & Buster's again. And the rules about kids not being allowed? Seriously, who even knew that was a thing? We come here to have a good time, not read a rulebook. This whole situation was just plain scary. If I had the chance, I'd sue for sure. 🙅♀️
I can't believe those bizarre security guards were stopping me and my sister from reaching our parents. The lady guard even got all touchy-feely – seriously creepy stuff. I don't know if she's got some issues, but it's sickening. And as for the food, don't even get me started. It's downright disgusting. I'd say, skip this place for a meal. Go eat somewhere else, anywhere else. The food was just... YUCK! 😬🤢
In addition to the security issues, the food was a disappointment, with both quality and taste falling far below...
Read moreHORRIBLE!!!!! we arrived at 1pm to about 50% of the restaurant being empty. When we walked up to the hostess stand there were three women just chit chatting and ignoring guests. When finally they acknowledged me I let them know I needed a table for 6. They responded with, "oh well it's going to be an hour and a half do you want to wait?" I asked how is that possible if they had so many open tables. They rudely responded oh well we have a huge wait list. I understood and was okay with waiting. I came about an hour after asking what the status was and they responded "you have only waited an hour you have half an hour still" I could not understand why we were still waiting with open tables everywhere. But I stayed quiet and was okay with waiting. We finally sat down and we wanted to order a beer. We asked what the prices were since they were not on the menu (which should not be legal) and our waitress had no idea. (I get they just opened but this should be the first thing they are taught) she then went on to say "it is going to be a 10-15 minute wait for any alcoholic drinks because the bar is backed up. Just so you know before you order" I was shocked!!! I would think it would be handled differently and not deter guests from spending money. We then proceeded to wait 15 minutes to see our waitress again in order to order. She was spending a lot of time at a different table because they couldn't get the game card to work and the manager was completely incompetent and couldn't assist her. On the plus side we got our food within 7 minutes. But again it showed the servers didn't know the menu. We had a different waiter take our order since we complained about not being able to order and he stated a food item we ordered came with fries which was not the case. We asked to get the fries we were promised and did not get them until we were leaving AND we were STILL CHARGED for them. We waited another 20 minutes just to pay!!! Now I understand the hour and a half wait. It's because patrons are waiting to check out. We tried very hard to be understanding and not complain but that wait was ridiculous and we almost walked out. With only being open for 2 weeks I would have hoped it would have been up to par and that everyone would have been trained correctly. I was very wrong. GO...
