When in doubt... steak AND pasta! I wasn’t entirely sure what an Italian steakhouse was supposed to be. Do they just slap marinara on a ribeye? Serve spaghetti with a side of sirloin? No clue. But I was in town for work, felt like I deserved a good meal, and Johnny’s did not disappoint. First off, this place is gorgeous. The kind of spot where you half expect Frank Sinatra to stroll in and start serenading your table. It was busy, but we got seated fairly quickly and were greeted by Ann, our waitress and a part time superhero. She kicked things off with drinks and brought out fresh, steaming focaccia bread that could’ve been my entire meal. On the table? A DIY dipping station with olive oil, salt, pepper, and a mountain of Parmesan so you could mix it up however you like. Honestly? Five stars for the bread alone. Before the main course, I had the house salad with balsamic vinaigrette, and wow! super fresh, crisp, and just the right balance of tangy and sweet. You know it’s a good salad when you're actually sad to see the bottom of the bowl. For the main event, I ordered the ribeye cooked medium rare with Alfredo pasta; because why choose between steak and carbs when you can have both? It came out perfect. The steak was cooked exactly how I like it, well seasoned and tender, and the pasta was creamy, delicious, and cooked al dente. At this point, I was absolutely stuffed... but we were celebrating, so dessert was a must. I went with the tiramisu. Not my favorite part of the meal, the ladyfingers could’ve been soaked a bit more, but I took it home and had it for breakfast the next morning. Somehow, it was even better. There was this ganache like layer at the bottom that really pulled it together. Not the best tiramisu I’ve ever had, but definitely a solid encore. The overall atmosphere was classic with contemporary touches, elegant, but not over the top. The staff was incredible, and my water glass never even had a chance to hit empty (which is impressive, considering I drink water like a fish). If you’re in town and considering anywhere else, don’t. Go to Johnny’s. Amazing food, beautiful space, and service that makes you feel like a VIP. 10/10. Will definitely return. Still dreaming about that focaccia and steak!!!

SKIP - go to Duck City or Stevenson’s. We didn’t have the best experience at Ruthie’s but it was a heck of a lot better than this. Actually, you could probably have a better meal at McDonalds. The food is terrible. It’s not the most expensive steak we’ve ever ordered but it’s definitely the most overpriced due to quality and taste. We had to send a steak back we ordered medium rare but received well done. When we got it back, it was extra rare. We gave up and boxed it up. The surf and turf is not tasty either. It was mostly shrimp in the lobster tail and the steaks were smothered in cheese sauce, ruining their flavor. Goat cheese salad was not worth the $6 upgrade. (Pictured is Filet Rockefeller and Parmesan Crusted NY Strip) Ambiance is terrible. We were seated at the bar. The picture attached is 10pm at night. It was so bright and hot inside the restaurant. The lights so bright are like giant heat lamps. Like someone else mentioned, gnats everywhere also. Nothing like an “upscale” meal with bugs flying around. Service was really bad too. I give this one a little break as I know it is hard to find staff these days. But what staff they had just did not cut it. Our waitress even admitted they were dead tonight and we were still there for 3 hours; excruciatingly slow. Staff spilled every drink they poured. Buss boy did not even wipe down the table next to us he cleared. Took so long for table next to us to even get drinks when seated. We decided to try something new tonight and sorry we did. We will be sticking to the smaller, local restaurants where they pride themselves on good food, great service and ambiance.

I recently had a horrible experience while dinning at jhonnys italian steakhouse in Moline Illinois. This was my first experience with jhonnys italian steakhouse and will definitely be my last. Upon showing up myself and 3 others were seated and were greeted by a very polite server who was great, but that was pretty much the extent of good service we were provided. We ordered drinks and they were brought to us by a different server and we were told that this server would take over as our server, unfortunately I am unable to recall her name but I believe it to be Ashley. Immediately we noticed that one of our drinks was served in a chipped glass, we did not make a big deal of this and informed our server who removed the drink but never offered to replace it with another. After waiting for a more than reasonable amount of time we had to call our server over and ask if our drink, which we barely touched, was going to be replaced or not. The server replaced it but immediately we could tell the she had a rude attitude. She would walk away before we were finished talking to her and she just made our dinning experience unpleasant. The next issue we had, apart from the servers rude attitude and demeanor, was with our next round of drinks. They gave us a drink in a glass with lipstick and dirt smeared on the side, not only is this gross but this is during the coronavirus. I expect to be handed clean glasses. when we asked for it to be replaced with a new glass again our server was rude and very unprofessional. While there are several things we can continue to complain about i will stick to the major issues that stuck with me. The next issue we had was the server bringing us drinks we had not ordered, i am unsure what she assumed but were given drinks that we did not want and did not order. Around this time we had received our food which was actually very good and we had no complaints about. At this point we felt that our experience had not been satisfactory and we asked to speak to the manager jack. Upon presenting our issues to jack about the broken glass, dirty glasses, and rude service we had received his response was that the server who had served us was one of his best and that it was hard for him to believe she had provided bad service. At this point he became irate and stated he would be calling the police because he believed we would not be paying out 325 dollar bill. We had paid our bill and were not even given the courtesy of being given a receipt or our change. The police arrived and we were asked to leave, this was both embarrassing and discriminatory as I believe we were treated this way because we were Hispanic. I asked the police if we had done anything wrong and they said no the manager "jack" just wanted us removed from the property. I stated we had paid our bill and we were waiting for a receipt, upon which we were told by jack that he didn't know we had change coming to us. He gave us our change but never gave us a receipt, this was August 21th at around 6 pm. We left with the police following behind us. upon which I asked if we paid our bill and had not done anything, why were being escorted out and treated like criminals? we were not given an answer. This was the most embarrassing, discriminatory and unprofessional experience I have ever had at any business of any kind. I will definitely be taking action and contacting the corporate office. There is no reason for us to have to experience what we did when we were respectful patrons of this establishment, jhonnys italian steakhouse i hope you guys take action against jack and make things right, discriminatory practices are not ok and are something that cannot be tolerated, i have no other explanation as to why we were treated this way, other than just plain discrimination. I hope corporate looks into this experience with their manager jack and that no one ever goes through anything like this again at jhonnys italian steakhouse. You will never have my business again, and I will be sure to tell everyone they type of manager you have running your...

My boyfriend and I visited Moline Johnny's Italian Steakhouse for an impromptu date night Friday, January 24th. We had a good experience there a couple of years or so ago and wanted to have a romantic evening, so we went. We were seated right away and waitress seemed nice, all was going well.

Then the food got to the table. Our waitress sold me on a spinach salad with warm bacon dressing and sun dried tomatoes. There was no bacon (it was cold pancetta) and it wasn't warm. Additionally, it was slathered in some mayo-based dressing and covered with a chopped, hard boiled egg, and too many sun dried tomatoes after I had told her I liked little to no toppings on my salad.

My boyfriend ordered a ribeye steak, medium, and a lobster tail. I ordered Seafood Pomodoro, described in the menu as shrimp, scallops, mussels, and mushrooms in an aromatic tomato sauce with fettuccine.

His steak was RAW, his lobster over cooked, and my dinner was a disaster. I was not served a delicious seafood and pasta dish, I was served two over-cooked and meally mussels, four over-cooked and one raw shrimp, and a few poorly cut portions of a scallop that didn't even total an entire one: all drowning in an oily, separated tomato broth with half chunks of tomato in it. Neither of us could eat our dinners the way they came out of the kitchen.

A waitress other than ours stopped at the table, noticing we weren't eating our dinners. She took both plates, asked if I wanted to try something different. I answered that I would try the Chicken Picata and to please leave off the onions. She acknowledged my request and appologized to both of us, but didn't write down my order.

We attempted to eat the lobster (which we made zero complaints about, because there's only so much complaining one can do), but couldn't finish it because it was so tough. My BFs ate his baked potato and I ate some focaccia dipped in oil.

His steak came back out cooked closer to medium, maybe a little over, but that's to be expected with recooking and not too big a deal. They also sent him a new potato, which was nice. My dinner came shortly after, with onions all over it. I spoke up immediately and the waitress (ours this time) offered to resubmit it to the kitchen. I explained that I was tired of sending back food and that my onion removal request stemmed from an aversion, not an allergy, and that I'd rather pick around them than wait for a THIRD dish. She appologized again, and I set to picking out the thinly sliced, raw onions in my dish.

After I'd gotten a few off the top of the fried chicken, I tried a bite. It was chewy on one side, as if it had been freezer burnt at some point. I ate a few bites of the pasta and called that dinner. Waitress offered me a box and I declined. I explained that I wasn't happy with that dish either and that was the conversation. I was so dissapointed and tired of making complaints that I decided it wasn't worth explaining any farther.

After only a few minutes, the waitress brings the check and explains that a manager removed the price of my dinner. We thank her and she walks away as we open the bill. The price of the pasta dish was not included, but the price of the salad (that was part of the meal) sure was. Is $4.50 a big deal? Maybe not, but the principal sure matters to me.

We paid the bill without another word, but WILL NOT BE BACK, EVER. There are plenty of other romantic date-night places and/or steak houses in the Quad Cities! If I had it to do all over again, I would choose one of them instead of wasting another dime at Johnny's...

I came into town to visit family and want d to take my Mother to a nice new place to eat for Mother’s Day, well this was not that place.

There were 4 adults and my 3 year old grandson. Our reservation was at 2:15 pm that day and there was plenty of tables… but we were placed in a corner next to a huge group that was on the other side of a black curtain. My Father is 6 ft 2in and was in the corner. I had to ask the server for a booster because we had a toddler who couldn’t reach the table. The table was too small for 5 people and the server thought a 6th person was coming and she actually tried to add an additional chair.

She kept yelling when she spoke, probably because she sat us at the worst table in the building. There were at least 5-6 other rounds that were next to us with a nice window view that she could have sat us at. Train your staff better, please?

The table was too small for the food we ordered. The food was overcooked, unseasoned and overpriced.

We only had silverware for two, had to ask for that. The menu clearly stated a salad plus a side, which one was a baked potato with all entrees.

When we began to order, we couldn’t get a potato because she said that they are only cooked after 4 pm. I asked her where was that on the menu, she couldn’t but just kept repeating herself.

We also asked for salad but she failed to mention that it was family style. Which wasn’t even enough for 3 adults. So I upgraded my salad to the Wedge salad that was not good either. The lettuce was not in the best shape and covering it with tons of blue cheese dressing isn’t the answer.

Service was horrible. We continued to attempt to get her attention but she continued to walk by us like everyone else in the restaurant. She half bussed the table and left the dishes on a pop up tray right behind me so I bussed our own table.

My son couldn’t get anyone’s attention either so he had to go to the bar for A-1. Which the steaks needed it badly.

By the time the food hit my stomach, I was in the bathroom purging the food. And the bathrooms needed the Health Department. It was dirty, and had no soap. So what were the employees washing their hands with?? I had to tell the lady at the first bar to call a manager because the bathroom was completely dirty and unsanitary. She said she was going to clean it, but who would want drinks from the bartender/bathroom cleaner?

By the time I got back, the check for $200 was already there. It was an insult to me and my family for the bad food, service and bathroom.

I would have went to McDonald’s and enjoyed myself more and I don’t eat there that often.

When I paid the bill and was walking out we noticed how much room the others in the restaurant had and even parties of 10+ had straws while we weren’t offered any.

Save your money. I didn’t want to complain in front of my parents and especially my Mother, because she was so excited to go there. Such a MAJOR disappointment and my money should be refunded.

Before my son, grandson and I made it back to his home that was less than 10 minutes away, we had to stop on the side of the road because I purged everything else up. I felt very sick the rest of that day and the next.

Food poisoning most likely. This is NOT FINE DINING.

FOODY BEWARE….. I think this establishment needs a health inspection so no one else gets...
