I used to love this place and accepted that when they were busy, service could be a little slow. But nothing like what I experienced today. Placed a simple order (2 tacos, bean burrito, potato oles to go). Apparently that threw a massive monkey wrench into the works because it was busy and the crew was wrapped up with the drive-thru window and the seated customers. Somehow my carry-out order completely vanished. The kid managing the register was no help at all; as 10 minutes turned into 15 minutes and I still hadn't gotten my food, he would just shrug at me helplessly instead of yelling, "HEY, WHERE'S ORDER 369?" like any reasonably competent register guy. Then I corralled the kid who had been assembling the orders as he rushed food to a table; I showed him my order and he promised me that it would be right up. Didn't happen. Now I've been there 20 minutes and no one is paying any attention to me at all.
"Give me my money back. I'm done."
"Sorry, sir." Another shrug.
"No, I'm serious. GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK."
"I can't do that. I'm not a manager."
"Well then FIND ONE. I'm fed up with this place."
By the time the manager had been located and my money refunded, I had been there for 25 minutes. Any class-act chain (Culver's) would have stopped the presses, comped me a meal (or given me a coupon for same) AND refunded my money. All I got was a half-hearted apology.

Read moreNormally I wouldn't have anything bad to say about this Taco John's aside from them occasionally forgetting to hold the mild on my tacos. In fact, my husband and I can't agree between Taco Bell(ick) and Taco John's(yum) so we also go to both to order our preferred meals. Unfortunately, this September evening was vastly disappointing. After going to Taco Bell for my husbands food we went over to the Taco John's. There were only four cars that we could see. The wait seemed to be a little long but I really wanted some oles, so we stayed. After about ten minutes we finally made it to the menu board and the guy asked if we could give him just a moment, so no problem, we wait. After about five minutes the two cars we were able to see have gone out of view and we are still patiently waiting. A couples minutes go by and then we tried to get there attention as we had watched at least four other customers decided they were too hungry to wait any longer. No response. We waited a little longer and tried again to reach them. No response. Waited two more minutes with no contact back and decided we had enough. As we pulled out we saw both cars still sitting there waiting...
Read moreI ordered some food off their app about 2 weeks ago. Clearing chose no onions, I can't stand onions, so I know that was marked as an ingredient that I wanted left out. Picked it up inside. Since I didn't see any onions on my initial inspection, I drove home.
Got home, started to feast on my food, and guess what... F'ing a bunch of damn onions in my 2nd bite! I called this backwater idgit joint, but nobody would pick up the phone after 10 rings. So I put it on speaker and sat back... 30 seconds later, they disconnected their phone! I called back 10 minutes later, STILL not connected. So I called the useless hotline from the internet, nobody answered, and had to leave a message. I included everything down to the 16-digit (I didn't actually count out how many numbers were in it, but it's too long IMO) order number I was given on the app. Not a word since... do NOT trust these people. Most of their employees don't speak English, and I have a translator app for just those situations. But I don't think they can truly read English either, so you get what you get.
