My Mom is nearing the end of her life and it's hard to find things she can still eat and drink. One of her favorites and a good way to get some liquid in her is the Peach & Blueberry smoothie from Panera. We had one last procedure to get her to at the hospital yesterday and we stopped at Panera on the way home. We went thru the drive-thru and she wanted broccoli cheddar soup and a smoothie. When asked about adding a pastry, I automatically answered "no" because my Mom has had no appetite for sweets lately. At the window, it turned out that she had a dollar off a smoothie and we were asked if she wanted to use that. My Mom thought the lady (I wish I had her name) was asking about a cookie. I told the lady my Mom wanted to use the $1 off and then was trying to explain to my Mom that it was for a $1 off her smoothie and not about adding a cookie since I had already turned that option down when we ordered. The very kind lady must have overheard what was going on and so she threw in a cookie for my Mom. My Mom had had a miserable day at the hospital because her procedure was painful, so it was very nice to have someone who didn't even know her and what she had just been thru. sense that a cookie was what was called for. Even if she never feels well enough to eat the cookie, it was psychologically was was needed on such a terrible day....
Read moreThis is one of my favorite stops in the morning for their Steel Cut Oatmeal, which is Delicious! Apparently oatmeal is however not a staff favorite because I just finished my order for it and an employee came stomping over and told the cashier he needed to go to the back and get the fruit! Three times now I’ve sat there waiting on my order to be done and I hear them complain about making the food. If that’s not bad enough I walked up to get my oatmeal and the one lady just got done taking an order from the drive thru in which she snapped off and said “She doesn’t want to get smart with me today”. Everyone has bad days I understand this but do you realize everyone can hear your complaints? It definitely won’t keep business with an attitude like that. I’ve still gone back for the love of Oatmeal, though I must say I’m now done! Walked in today as one of the usual workers rounded the corner of the back kitchen glanced at me walked over to the other two employees whispered and they both turned their heads to take a peek my direction rolled their eyes and turned away. I nicely turned around and exited and will not go back to this location. I do apologize for asking you to make me an item off your menu a few times a week. I hope your...
Read moreBad trip today. Some coworkers and I chose Panera for lunch today as we often do. I decided to try a teriyaki warm bowl as did one of my other coworkers. We ordered the same time and my food came out about ten minutes after theirs. The more discouraging part was these delicious looking bowls came out literally half full, not as advertised. I was in over $17 for approximately 1 to maybe 1 1/2 cups of rice chicken and broccoli and an iced tea. The price is absolutely outrageous to scrimp on the food. Coming from a place that charges up to $10 for half a sandwich, this should not have surprised me.
I enjoy their flat bread pizzas, but they're really out of touch on their prices.
To add to it, you may know Panera requests a tip at checkout. Mind you, you pick up your own food, fill your own drink, take your own dishes over and sort the silverware from the plates, and usually have to wipe off your table. They should be offering you the tip.
I'm very much...
