This happened this morning and I'm still fuming. My family (14) were the first in line at the door at 11 when they opened. We were told to wait 15 mins, which was fine since we are a larger group. But for whatever reason, we were arbitrarily broken up into 2 tables with 2 different servers in 2 different sections. My Aunt's table was waited on first (a sign of what was to come, I guess) and they had to ask to be seated with us. Why did we wait if we were just going to be sat apart??
Then, it's as if my Aunt's table was full of VIPs and the rest of us (at my table) were not welcome. They got their appetizers before we even got drinks. Servers would stop by my Aunt's table multiple times, but the only visits we got that I recall were once to order our drinks - where we were offered a coupon for free appetizers (spoiler alert: we paid full price) BEFORE ordering (wouldn't have gotten 2 had we known!) - and again for refills (before we were finally given our food). It was as if they would intentionally keep their backs to us and run off. WE WERE ONE PARTY
We then proceeded to wait OVER AN HOUR for food. We watched people who were sat long after us be served and leave before we ever got apps. The table behind us went through 2 groups of people before we ever got food. My cousin passed their appetizers over to us once they had gotten their meals so we could have something to eat.
This is what I'm still reeling from - an hour into our wait, the manager comes up to us. Previous visits when we've waited a while for food, we were given a discount.
I assumed the same thing was going to happen again, but instead, she just walks up and says "Hey, having fun watching everyone else eat their food?"
WTAF? WHO says that?? I work with customers and I'd only say something downright rude like that if I was looking to get punched. How much fun do you think we're having, especially when you can see there's kids at the table?!? I think everyone just ignored her, but in hindsight I wish I would have complained, because I can't imagine that ruining her mood would have made our service any worse than it ended up being.
Once my Aunt's table had practically finished their meals, Dad finally got someone's ear to check on our appetizers. They came out immediately (were they just waiting to be brought out??) and I want to say not even 5 minutes later we got our meals. And I swear, as soon as the waitress was done putting her tray back, she turned right back around to our table to ask us about the check. I hadn't even put the dressing on my salad, it was that immediate. I had to watch the entire restaurant be seated, served, and leave before you could give me a plate of food - and you're seriously rushing us now? Not to mention they didn't say shit to my Aunt or Uncle, who were done eating at that point!
The cherry on top was that the coupon for free apps didn't work, they couldn't figure out how to split the bill (so instead of enjoying our food, we got to play coupon shuffle and figure out the check with the waitress), and again for some reason my aunt's table got boxes and a bag before us. Despite being part of the same group. I still can't get over that we were told to wait because we were a large group, and then despite repeated reminders, we were treated like 2 separate tables. There was also a mixup of some sort where a kid's meal was almost $20 somehow? But we had been in the restaurant around 2 hours at that point and just wanted out.
I think it was the first time my family had unanimously agreed to not leave a tip. This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant, by a landslide, and I am still in shock that a manager would walk up to a table just to laugh...
Read moreWe were here just as they opened at 3:00. Boy this place is hopping. We've found Texas Roadhouse locations in all cities, always busy. I will say that our waitress was wonderful, and that the food (except for one item) was really good and arrived quickly.
I've eaten at different Texas Roadhouse locations quite a few times and always order the same thing, so I don't have an issue with a food sensitivity (pepper ...yes, the seasoning). I've never had a problem with pulled pork before because they always put the barbecue sauce on the side. So I never thought to mention anything about pepper to our waitress tonight (who by the way was wonderful. Unfortunately, our pulled pork had so much pepper, it caused a reaction and I've been ill for the last few hours.
Nothing wrong with the food, (although my friend, who ordered the exact same meal, remarked "boy this pork is teally spicy.") I'm not saying food poisoning or anything like that. Probably wouldn't bother anyone else. It's just that I have an allergy. I've ordered the pulled pork dinner many many times at many many other locations of Texas roadhouses and never had a problem before so I'm afraid that the chef at this location this evening went overboard with the seasoning.
But the server was great, the fellow who showed us to our seat was great, the food arrived quickly, the prices are great, it would be nice if they put prices on their drinks menu, (it feels kind of sneaky when they tell you what kind of drinks they have but don't tell you the prices)
This place was almost full within an hour of opening...and that was on Wednesday. So again I'm really not complaining, there was nothing wrong with the food it's just that it was different for the first time and to me, caused a allergic reaction. (Please, stick to whatever recommendations you're given in terms of seasoning. There's a reason why we choose the exact same menu at the exact same chain, cuz we think that the food will be prepared the same way to certain standards. Pepper is on the table. There's no reason you need to add that much in...
Read moreIf I could give them 6... I would. In town for a few days for work and was in the mood for a good steak and a large beer. I wasn't disappointed. I have a lot of years in corporate restaurants. I was a little suprised when I walked through the door at 5:15 on a Monday. The place was nearly full. I wasn't suprised for long. They nailed every point they could from the time I walked in the door. Heather behind the bar was awesome. I love that every person who was part of my experience used my name... down to the food runner who brought my salad. Hanna, the MOD, hit the table touch and intro even though I was seated at the bar. Heather countered my order doneness with a descriptive verification to be sure I'll enjoy my steak and my salad didn't contain anything I didn't care for. I ordered the bone in Ribeye. One of my favorite steaks, yet often improperly cooked, so I don't usually venture to order it and save that for home where I know it'll be right. It was perfect. The timing was majestic. I had just taken the last bite of my salad when the steak was slid in front of me. Other than a quick check back to make sure everything was to my liking, I was left to enjoy a superb meal. Heather swung back around toward the very end of the meal for some conversation that rounded out the experience as a lone diner out of town for work. Since I can't very well leave a 100% perfect review because there is always room for improvement... there was this one drain fly I saw. Twice. But, I was sitting 18" from the taps. Its about the nitpickiest thing anyone could say. Bottom line... this place has been trained up. Bravo, well done. It's a rare occasion that I'm impressed let alone have my expectations exceeded. I would drive all the back to This location just to...
