Captain D's — Restaurant in Monroe

I know the owners, they used to be customers of mine a few years ago. However, this was the 1st time I've been back here since COVID shut the place down. As far as the restaurant itself, the interior has had some good improvements & upgrades.

Now, the reason for the rating is simple, the girl at the register had to reenter my order twice & then had to get assistance to correct her mistakes. As everyone can see, the portions are smaller than they used to be & the "all you can eat" has been suspended until further notice. (More than likely due to supplier shortages & staff shortages too. Plus, with price increases that are about to affect everyone, customer retention will be imperative.) My personal suggestions to help this is, instead of an "all you can eat" have a "plus one" at the same price as the A.Y.C.E. - increase the portions 20% for the 1st serving (if the fish portions are small add an additional piece) and start with 3 pieces of fish. The "plus one" would be one refill of all the items served the first time around except with the 20% reduction. (As you can see it the picture)

As far as the taste of the food, I can see they've kept that level of quality that I remember - which is why I waited for the dining area to re-open. (I hate reheating fish & will throw it in the trash before eating it reheated)

I would like to inform everyone of the sorry service I received at this place by a waitress named Norma I ordered the all you can eat fish and she brought my husband more but when I asked for some more fish she told me no she had to take it to the two tables of men that was there and gave it to them then a second time she came by I asked for more and again I was told no but she took it to the same table of men and gave the rest to two guys who had come in sitting next to us the third time she past our table she would not even look at me when I ask could have another piece of fish so I guess if you gonna eat here you better be a man or don't expect to get any more fish brought to you yes I left and I am still mad today I had a 5 hr drive back home and that's why I stopped to eat not to be told no so she could service the men that was there. Maybe I should have talked to the manager but at this point my blood pressure was gone and if she had told me know one more time no and given the fish to the same men again it would have been bad so I felt I needed to get out of there. I was so mad literally got sick on the drive home and still have a headache today every time I think of how I was treated I want to get in my car and drive back there. So maybe you should change your sign to ALL YOU CAN EAT FISH IF YOU ARE OF THE MALE SEX females...

On 7/31/20 I visited the drive thru at this store and ordered 2 4-piece fish dinners. Upon arriving home I determined that the two dinners only had 3 pieces in them. This is not my first dissatisfaction with this particular location. They are poorly staffed and almost always manage to make mistakes with my orders. Due to virus restrictions on in-restaurant dining, one would think the fast food stores would make an extra effort to make sure diners were happy with their services. Almost all drive thru locations now make mistakes with filling their orders. I strongly encourage people to take the time while parked at the pick up window to thoroughly go through their order to make sure it is correct. You will avoid wasted time to return and disappointment to find out later your order was not...
