One of the least flavorful Chinese restaurants I’ve ever had. I ordered Crab Rangoons, Egg Drop Soup, Twice Cooked Pork w/fried rice. The rangoon filling tasted like straight cream cheese, no crab flavor at all. Not to mention the rangoons I received were less than half filled (see pictures). The egg drop soup was the best part of the meal, it was served barely warmed without fried noodles. The sauce on the Twice Cooked Pork was extra salty and over powered the any flavor from the rest of the dish. The so called fried rice was nothing more than white rice mixed with bits of chopped fried egg (see pics). Giving 2 stars because I can say I’ve had worse in other locations but this was a definite disappointment!

3.5 ⭐️...definitely cure my taste for Chinese food tonight, very flavorful with both dish. Kung Pao Triple Delight & Beef Scallops. I normally order Kung Pao only no matter where I go for Chinese but tonight I want more. I want to see if it’s ever going to compare or beat Imperial House in Mukownago, WI...Sorry Chopsticks...no comparison, BUT that just me. I prefer the flavor at IH. Believe it or not there’re lots of flavor as I found out...it’s NOT like a Big Mac that U would order at McD’s. The Beef Scallops could use a little more scallop. Other than that...I thought both dishes were delicious and satisfied my funky mood for tonight.

Don’t get the Crab Rangoon. You’ll pay $6 for 4 empty Wontons. Needless to say, I’m mad. I am fairly positive that they’re not made in House either, because when I talked to the owner, she said they absolutely can not change anything about the recipe. They couldn’t add more filling if they tried. Obviously. Because they’re frozen and shipped in.

Some of the negative reviews on here are unwarranted IMHO. Yes, Chopsticks did change ownership and like all restaurants coming under new management, you learn things. So I wouldn't pay any attention to the 3 - 6 year old reviews. I did leave a negative review about a year ago mainly because of my frustration trying to place a carryout order and we were under covid restrictions, so the owner responded. Forget that earlier review... the restaurant is fully open now and there are no issues with both dine-in or carry out.

We've lived here since 2005 so we've been eating at, and placing takeout orders from Chopsticks for nearly 17 years now. I've eaten Asian food in Asia and all over the US including NYC, San Francisco, Toronto, Chicago, Vegas, etc., even in a little town in KS where we lived for years before moving back to WI. For US Chinese restaurants and considering that Chopsticks is located in a small town, it's damn good. The staff is very friendly and the service is great. Obviously, it's not going to be up to everyone's tastes and expectations. No restaurant is. I will say this.... there was one reviewer that stated the brown gravy on the egg foo young was bland. They are correct. Which is why I request the lobster sauce when I order their egg foo young. There's a little tip for you! Makes the dish sooooo much better. I reserve 5-star ratings for the best of the best, so 4 stars that I gave Chopsticks is a darn good rating. Keep in mind... you are eating in a Chinese restaurant is a small town, so don't expect China Town San Francisco. But if you happen to find yourself in this small City of Monroe and have a hankering for Chinese, I can genuinely recommend the...

This is hands down the worst chinese food I've ever had. The service was subpar and the place was poorly lit.

The egg drop soup had a consistency somewhere between syrup and jell-o. Their "fried rice" is just white rice with little flecks of egg mixed in.

The sesame chicken is also served in a lake of super sweet, gelatinous sauce, with more sauce than chicken (and 3 pieces of broccoli). The chicken breading was soggy, and several pieces of chicken were tough and inedible.

Needless to say, I left feeling sick and wishing I could undo my decision to eat here. I can only assume they stay in business due to their convenient location in the downtown square and an overwhelming lack of competition in Monroe.

Hard not to be "the best chinese restaurant in town" when you're one of only two chinese restaurants...

I have no idea what these other people who gave less than 3 star reviews are talking about. As far as local Chinese goes, dine-in or take-out, this place is really good. My husband and I had such a craving for Chinese and live in a town that doesn't have any. We read some reviews for New Chopsticks, and rather than go into Madison, get take-out, and drive back home, we decided to drive south to Monroe. We were both very pleasantly surprised how affordable, and delicious this place was. I couldn't believe they had Scallion Pancakes on the menu, and their rice is the perfect amount of sticky. Sooooo good! Not only that, but their wonton soup had the most savory broth and crunchy cabbage. We will definitely...
