Being a small town, Monroe has lots of bars and pubs that feel homey. None are as perfect as Bartels. When you first walk in, you'll (usually) be greeted by the best staff in the business, Jim and Rhonda, the owners. They offer incredible service and work very hard to make their customers happy. The next thing you'll notice is that, while they're a small pub, the list of beers that they offer rivals many much larger bars. Jim works hard to keep an outstanding selection on tap. Additionally, prices are reasonable and, of course, the service is prompt. In addition to being a delightful place to come and enjoy a pint, Bartels is an amazing member of the community at large. They sponsor teams for pool leagues, bowling leagues, youth teams, school activities, and more. It's common to come in and see them helping out with a fundraiser for a benefit in the community. While it looks small and quiet (which it is, in good ways) I was greeted by hands down, some of the friendliest locals and bar staff I’ve ever met, across the country.
Not only that, the drinks are tall, but the prices aren’t.
I got to meet Rhonda, the owner- and she was an extremely nice woman.
