El Mazatlán — Restaurant in Monroe

Stopped her for lunch over the holidays. Got a couple of their lunch specials and a margarita. Good food, good lunch prices...even the margarita was cheap. So we decided we'd come back another time for supper.

When we came back, it wasn't very crowded, like the first time. Could have been the holidays, because this place is a gem. They give you a healthy portion of chips and salsa to start with and feel free to ask for more if that isn't enough. I ordered the shrimp cocktail and she ordered the beef and cheese enchilada special. They were both great and they give you plenty of food.

10/10 the absolute BEST Mexican food I’ve ever had. EVERYTHING from the food, drinks, and service was amazing. I have never had such FRESH tasting food from a Mexican restaurant in my life.

Like the meat was actual freaking meat. Not the cheap ground up slop smushed into tortillas you get from other places. The flavor of the meats here were *chefs kiss. Others need to go here and take notes, clearly.

The margaritas- absolutely fire. (Fire means good for the older people) It’s like they hand pick the most beautifully ripe fruits to mix in with the perfect tequila.

The flavor profiles here are unmatched. You are all missing out on happy life if you don’t go here.

Cute place...Love the Decor...it feels authentic...like you are at a Mexican Restaurant which is cutely decorated including booths...chairs and tables...Service was excellent...the Food...lacked and needs to be stepped up in order for our return. Salsa was bland...Queso was runny and lacked in spice...Meat for Fajitas was dry and overcooked...as well as lacking flavor...Nacho Supreme Meat was also lacking in flavor.
