Chef salad is just a pinch of lettuce, that taste like water and dirt, sprinkled real sparingly across a paper plate with Italian dressing tomatoes and cheese for $NINE DOLLARS. They don’t have eggs 😮 The waitress had to check menu to see if a chef salad comes with meat was about to charge extra 😮 maybe if they actually knew what they were serving it would taste better. Feels like a rascist outdated hole in the wall. Don’t get me started on the NASTY HOT DOGS. Maybe they need to be served actual hot dogs to know what they are supposed to taste like. Hot dog comes with only mustard and slaw can’t even taste the ketchup and if u want chili then that means ask for a chili dog instead. The chili is the nasty mushy beans fake kind that comes out of can like Hormel bland flavor. This place nor the people have a welcoming vibe. The workers stare and talk about you the whole time you are there and even the OWNER ! They do not take cards (Cash only, probably white pies only too! Smh) and someone should rob them how they rob us of our money. No quality and overpriced nasty food. The chocolate pie taste like do-doo. The best and only thing for sale here edible with flavor is the Carolina kettle chips !!! This establishment needs some soul. Also not clean, workers only wipe around condiments on table. Handprints all over wall by sitting booths not wiped...
Read moreI stopped in for lunch and was very disappointed in my experience. This place is very popular with the locals so I said I'll give them a shot. I ordered 2 hotdogs with chili and onions with a sweet tea. My wife had her hotdogs with sour kraut. We said eat in, so we sat a table some what near the back. When the food came her hot dogs looked good. But when I look at mine I'm like what is this. The hot dogs had no more than 10 minced onions on it and only chili juice. So I immediately was about to take it back but my wife said no, don't make a scene, which I wasn't but I just dealt with it. A good amount of people were in and out but the vibe was not welcoming to us. I'm from New York and I've been living in the south for about 20 years now and this is the first time I felt this way in a restaurant. I've been a NYC chef for many years and a Chef in the south and also in restaurant management for years and what I experienced is not good. If you have a burger or hot dog and toppings come with it, you just pick them every customer should get the same amount on theirs no matter who you are. You paid for it. So I'm not going to go any further with this. For those who've experienced this you know. Also I observed the hello and goodbyes were for...
Read moreWalking around in downtown Monroe on a Friday afternoon and decided to grab a quick bite to eat. Ran across this cute sandwich shop and decided to check them out. Instantly transported through time as it looks like a 50s diner. I believe we walked in around 2:30pm and they were closing at 3 pm but a lot of other customers were walking in as well trying to get a last minute sandwich. Now, you can tell the workers working in the kitchen and behind the counter were younger kids because they were not very communicative or explained the menu well. We would ask a question and they would just reply with "yes" , "no" or look at us like if we should already know. A little bit off putting but Either way we went ahead and ordered two sausage dogs and their Carolina BBQ dog. VERY DELICIOUS! A perfect little pick me up on a Friday afternoon. Their sandwiches looked delicious as well and if im ever in the area, I will def return and try other things on their menu. The owner was very friendly though and made sure everything tasted great! Lots of side street parking in the area. Oh and side note, they only...
