Papi Loco Taco Shop — Restaurant in Monroe

While visiting Duck Commander (shout out to the guy behind the counter who highly recommended Papi Loco) my husband smelled food and noticed there was a to go box and he asked the guy for food recommendations around the area as we were here for HS baseball playoffs. We LOVE Birria and he suggested the birria quesadillas. So off we went … upon arrival it was raining and the door was locked. We had checked the hours before arriving and it said they were open. My husband noticed a guy in there so he tapped on the to-go window and the guy said they were having technical difficulties due to the weather but to come on in. He’d be ready in just a few. We were greeted with chips and salsa (I’m picky about salsa and this salsa was GOOD!!). I ordered the hibiscus margarita and it just so happened to be 2 for $6 (Cinco de Mayo special). It was delightful! The majority of the table ordered the King Quesa Birria. My only complaint was that it was a little messy/hard to eat, but the flavor was spot on! That crispy shell with the melted cheese and meat. Chefs kiss!! As if we weren’t full already, we had to try the Papi Churros. OMG! They were so warm and oh so good! So make sure you save room for dessert!!! Highly...

The absolute worst service! I wasn’t aware it would take over 20 mins for queso when we first arrived. We received the appetizer before drinks….we sat there after another 10 mins and finally got drinks. This was my first time here so I wasn’t aware the level of spicy on the taco per the menu so I ordered and it was extremely spicy so I spoke with Emily who was the “manager” who stated she’d have the kitchen remake them and push it through “ faster”we agreed. After 30 mins waiting for 2 remade tacos I was told she discounted them? I was baffled bc why do i have to pay for them again? Especially after her and I had a conversation regarding the misunderstanding and again it’s my first time here. Emily refused to come back out and discuss anything with me….the bartender was so rude! But from the response below the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree! Y’all won’t be in business long so enjoy….and Yw! You’ll never be graced with my presence! And no one else for that sake cause you’ll be out of business! WORST...

I recently visited a this place and was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food and the service. The tacos were delicious, with a variety of flavorful fillings and perfectly cooked tortillas. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure that our experience was enjoyable from start to finish.

One thing that particularly stood out to me was the variety of hot sauces available, each with its own unique flavor and level of heat. I also appreciated they customize my margarita.

Overall, I would highly recommend this taco place to anyone looking for delicious and authentic Mexican cuisine. The prices were also very reasonable, making it an excellent value for the high quality of the food...
