Pope's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Monroe

As far as the food goes this is a 5 Star Place all the way. I read the reviews on here and was conflicted as some make it seem amazing and others make it seem horrible. I just went to order for my second time, yesterday I ordered and spoke to a young girl who was very polite and my food was amazing. However I called the place a larger order today and was asked pick up or delivery. When I said delivery the person answering the phone stated they were our backed up on delivery and I said that was fine and he said I misunderstood he was not going to take my order for delivery to place it on DoorDash. When I told him I did not use DoorDash because of the fact that Doordash keeps their drivers tips and that I would just like to place my order and was not in a rush they could bring it to me when they had time (being understanding I feel on my part) he said he could not authorize that as his manager was the one doing deliveries. I still remained polite and just said will you have your manager call me when he gets back in to which I was told you’re gonna need to call back instead. So this drops my review from five star to three star. I am understanding that you may be busy around dinner time when you sell good food especially during this pandemic, however as the customer when I am still doing everything in my power to order from a small business to be told that I need to continue to call back in hopes that the managers in when I call got under my skin in a way I cannot explain So this drops my review from a five star to a three star. I was doing Doordash delivery and this place comes up. Usually Doordash doesn't make you pick up pizza orders without a pizza bag but I took it anyway as if I skip more than one it will cancel my dash immediately. I get to the store and head inside and see that the directions/instructions say that I HAVE to have a pizza bag to pick up the order so I tell the guy at the register that I don't have one and he tells me that I'm just going to have to go ahead and cancel the order so I leave and sit in my car for a sec and text the customer that I was dashing for that they won't allow me to pick up the order as I didn't have a pizza bag. She said she was going to call them so I waited until she finished her call to do anything. She texts me back saying that they STILL won't let it go out without the bag so I tell her again I am sorry but I am canceling the order. I call support to cancel the order and explain the situation and while I am literally on the phone with support the same guy who told me I had to cancel the order comes out and asks me if I am a Doordasher and I try to tell him that I am on call with support trying to cancel the order that he is forcing me to cancel but instead of listening he goes on a tirade about how I am harassing his customers and that I need to leave and that I am not doing my job (It's not my job I do this casually for pocket cash) this altercation was literally over a damned bag, I just don't understand. If he talked this way to any other person I guarantee you that they would tell everyone and their mother to avoid this place like the plague. I sure as hell will.

TLDR Store refused to give me an order without a bag, customer had me wait for her call, I call support after their 2nd refusal, cashier comes up to my car harassing me for "harassing his customers" 10/10 do...

*UPDATE THIS poor excuse of a manager has physically blocked anyone who has a bad expereince so they can not leave negative reviews....The owner and his DAD are terrible people even outside of the business...Karma is a you know what and it will catch up to them.

Absolutely worst customer service of any resturant i have ever encountered. 7/18 i placed order on line for delivery...received a call 5 mins later telling me they ran out of pizza sauce(not the first time they have ran out of a pretty important ingredient). They advised i would have a free pizza the next time i ordered. 7/31 attempted to place a order online and the website was malfunctioning after a few mins of trying, i called the store, owner didnt care abiut website problems and told me it was too late for delivery and hung up on me. I sent a private message to their facebook..it was seen but never responded to. After about a week or so i wrote a comment on a post on their site showing my disgust,was not rude or vulgar, my comment was deleted and ibwas blocked from the page. Since then i have found many reviews from peoole all over monroe county that have had similar experiences and very uncalled for confrontations with the manager. He is a arrogant, punk kid who thinks he is untouchable....will never ever come here again and neither will any of my...
