I had my first and only experience tonight. As parents, we hardly get a sitter and we had the chance to go out on the town. We decided to try something new and go to brass monkey. We sat down and waited for another customer to tell us that we can sit wherever. We chose the bar so we could play keno. After over 5 minutes we were finally greeted with menus pushed at us. We looked over the menu and a dark haired female bartender came over and asked 'what do you want?" Sorry, what? I ordered the lavender margarita and it was so overpowering that it was difficult to put down. After 10 minutes we finally got our order in. When she asked me soup or salad, I said neither. Chowder didn't sound good with Italian and I didn't feel like having a salad. She responded with an eye roll and just looked at my husband. He placed his order and we waited for over an hour for our food. She never came back and check on us just eye rolled a lot specifically at me. She never submitted our keno or gave us any customer service. If you want to be treated terribly on your only night out by botter staff and ignored, then this place is for you! If not... Go somewhere else. Literally I would have chosen taco bell over this disrespectful and ignorant...
Read moreOne star, Only because a Zero isn't available. Only 3 customers when I arrived at 7:10. I waited over 10 minutes, standing at the bar, for a bartender to show up. I took the beer to a table near the entertainment. (The only thing pleasant about being there) About 30 minutes later, I took my empty bottle back to the empty bar. After a few minutes a different waitress came behind the bar and I asked for another beer. She left the cash register area to attend her customers. While the musicians were packing up, I went back to stand at the still empty bar, by my still empty bottle. About 8:15 my original bartender showed up and asked if I wanted another one. I said, "I asked for another one, a half an hour ago." "All I wanted now, was to pay for that one." She said, "you didn't ask me and I won't put up with customers being rude." I didn't curse. I didn't raise my voice. I stated a fact. I'm a 68 year old veteran. If she thinks that was rude, she should consider another occupation. If she is the best that the owners can hire, there is absolutely no reason for...
Read moreWe didn't eat at Brass Monkey but at it's adjoining restaurant. I don't remember the name right now but it was so delicious, expensive but delicious real Italian food. Well worth stopping in for. We didn't think they were open at first but the gentleman at Brass Monkey said that they were and I am so glad that we went. Always happy to try new foods. They had some true lasagna the hubby never had and he loved it as well. Our friends we were with had a great time with us. We all took home leftovers. Was hoping I'd remember the name, it's been an on again off again restaurant here for years from what my friend told me when we were eating there. Her father had taken her to the original building downtown. Sorry was hoping it would jog my own memory. But it's had several locations in Monroe over the years and finally ended up next to Brass Monkey. Someday we'll try them as well. Stay safe and stay blessed everyone. Seppie If I remember the name I'll re-edit so you know it. The restaurant's name...
