While I appreciate that Monroe has an AYCE buffet option, World Buffet has gone so far downhill since reopening after Covid, that they might as well have stayed closed.
Multiple items definitely not at temp, one chicken dish was visibly undercooked as was one beef dish. Other items had sat so long (pot stickers, Chinese donuts, teriyaki sticks) they shouldn't have still been served. At almost $17 per person for dinner, New Chopsticks on Monroe's Square is a much better option. And this is coming from someone who used to adore WB's peanut butter chicken and Mongolian pork dishes. Plus to top that all off, my fortune cookie had no fortune in it. 😂
The staff is attentive and its more than clean enough, but there's no excuse for the level of zero care shown on the menu items. I had forgotten until today that my experience last time (January 2025) was similar, but I chalked it up to it being a one-off bad day. Nope. I can only assume this is the norm now. Visited at 6pm during what would normally be peak dinner time. But now I understand why there were so few cars in their parking lot.
Disappointed. But no longer surprised. ...
Read moreMy mom and I try to get here when it's just opening or right around dinner time. If you get there during this time, the food is hot and excellent. If you don't, its spotty on level of freshness. Soon as something finally runs out whether it be on the buffet for awhile or something that gets ate fast, there quick to replace it with fresh food. As long as you time it out right you'll have a great experience. The staff is semi friendly, mind you there culture differs from most of ours, so I feel they do a great job. We stopped in last night and everything was perfect! Dinner for 2 on the buffet will run ya about $13-$15 a person. And even though they dont take your order they do grab your sodas and clean your plates in between trips back and forth from the buffet so we always leave a tip, I mean, after all it is a reatraunt! The place is always clean and neat as well! I'm not to fond of mongolian but they do cook mongolian food to order right in front of you if your into that...
Read moreI’m a care giver for an elderly man who suffers from AMD. My client always wants to exert his independence; wouldn’t you? While paying our bill I overheard him say to the hostess, “ I’m nearly Blind.” I jumped up, headed his way and discovered that she, the hostess had taken his money twice. She had funds on the counter near this gentleman and another full payment underneath the counter. I made I contact with her demanding she NOT take advantage of a VULNERABLE adult, “Shame on you!” That’s all I could emotionally come up with. She quietly with out a word handed my client back the forged payment.
In closing. Sure the food was adequate yet why would it ever matter if they are...
