Our room was the last one available on short notice. I was worried since there were only 2 decent hotels in Monroe. But we were pleasantly surprised. Got in late and had a pleasant receptionist check us in smoothly. The hotel itself was nice enough, but it was the staff who made it 5 stars for us. Room was very clean & roomy (king). Bed & pillows comfy, crisp & fresh . The A/C unit didn't seem to be working but it was comfortable in the room. There was a kitchenette, microwave, & fridge- even a cute little dish soap bottle by the sink (no hot water in kitchenette sink, though). The fridge was noisy at times when it kicked on. Restrooms were very clean and worked fine. Carpet was clean. No odd room smells. There were multiple wall outlets right by the bed on both sides for charging phones, etc., and in the kitchenette. Windows were able to be opened for fresh air. I don't think there was an elevator. Free breakfast had plenty of options. Being on keto diet, I stuck with scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurt, real butter, coffee & tea with half & half, and milk. There were also boiled eggs. For kiddos there are many options including waffles, cereal, PB&J, juices, toast, bagels & cream cheese, oatmeal, apple sauce, and fresh fruit. Also hot chocolate & apple cider packets. So something for everyone. The eggs & sausage never ran out even though there were lots of hearty construction workers there (although the eggs were a little cold- not bad, just a spot here or there. Not a dealbreaker. There was a microwave if it was needed). Enough seating for us, too. The pool and hot tub were clean and inviting, with changing rooms including a handicap access restroom. Staff very friendly & accommodating. I had to hang out after checkout until my spouse completed his appointment that day elsewhere in town, and it went until after 3 pm. They let me wait in their front lobby watching TV and reading and helping myself to tea & coffee until he was done. All of the staff continued to make sure I was comfortable as they completed their work. Also complimentary newspapers were at the front desk and a water bubbler. Once hubby arrived, he needed to change clothes, and front desk staff then cheerfully helped and gave him access to the pool changing room. It ended perfectly and we will definitely go back to AmericInn in Monroe, WI if we return (probably will). Highly recommend. Monroe itself is a very clean, classy town, btw. There are plenty of grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, drugstores & gift shops within walking distance if you're up for a brisk stroll. Be sure to stop in at Swiss Colony by Walgreens. I would not pass up Pancho's & Lefty's as you leave town either. Unbelievably amazing TexMex barbecue downtown on the square. Monroe is a cute and fun town with a...

I was woke up at 11:20pm by cops pounding on what i thought was my door so i opened the door and was greeted by tazers, the cops said they want the guy in the guy in the room next to me. They kept ordering this "Ryan" guy to answer the door, but "Ryan" wasnt answering the door. I called front desk and asked them if they had another room i could be set up in. I was told "I just cant put you in another room... I just cant!" I dont know if they had no rooms available or they just didnt wanna deal with me too. I laid there trying to fall asleep but then they called and said i had to leave the room, i told him the cops were looking for the guy next to me and NOT me, I already made contact with an officer in the hallway. He told me the cops needed me outta the room, so i opened the door and was yelled at by 4 cops to GET BACK IN YOUR ROOM 120! I heard the cops ask "Ryan" if he loaded his AR15 before they showed up or while they were there! How much sleep do you think one can get after that mess?! The next morning i asked for a discount or some type of reimbursement. But all i got was "It was outta our hands" "We cant do anything about it" I stay at hotels when im on the road, which is quite a bit. I refuse to stay at another AmericInn and will do all i can until something is done about this! I had to drive 10 hours home that day! All the people showed me was they're more concerned about the profit than their customers safety. Thank you AmericInn of Monroe Wi for taking $100.00 from me and sending me on my way with little to no sleep. My kids also wanna thank you for keeping their...

Absolute nightmare in Monroe!

Where to begin? The incredibly rude desk-woman, who claimed to be called "Dawn", was atrocious, argumentative, and I was beyond belief at her stubborn, confrontational behavior. She lied to my face, spoke to me very disrespectfully, and it was an absolute shock at how her manner and demeanor was completely unfocused on the customer at all! I was appalled at the way she spoke to me and continuously argued with me, as if I was merely an inconvenience to her. Dawn apparently had no training in customer service skills or professional decorum, or at least choose not to exercise them.

After being exhausted and weary from travel, (and arguing with "Dawn") she assigned us the wrong room, called us once in the room to say, "sorry, wrong room...are you OK with it?", then another time to say "sorry, the other guy wants the room he reserved." After moving TO ANOTHER ROOM, a cleaning lady bursts in on me at 6 AM (in spite of Do Not Disturb signs). Too many mistakes!! So I'm not sure if it's extreme incompetency by the collective staff, or just little petty games that Dawn plays as solitaire. Either way, I feel like Wyndham Corporate should probably know about this so Dawn and her staff can be properly trained.

Plus the rooms weren't even clean!! I don't even want to know what this gunk is on the bedding!! (see photos below)

I thought Wyndham hotels were supposed to be nice establishments? I am really disappointed by this let down in quality, which has previously been a nice...

Check out my review of Super 8 Monroe for a comparison. I’ve given the edge to Americinn. Americinn is right across the street from Super 8. Rooms are anywhere from $20 - $30 more per night. I gave the edge to Americinn because it has much better breakfast offerings as well as adequate dining area space. My one issue with Americinn is that I usually use a hotel’s office chair (as flimsy as they might be) as a substitute for a rocking chair. This Americinn only has uncomfortable straight back chairs. Yep - I’m a rocker and now carry my portable camping / rocking chair with me. Super 8 and Americinn in Monroe are both perfectly adequate. Neither is fancy. If price is your main concern- choose Super 8. If a little more room and good breakfast are important - go Americinn.
