Super 8 by Wyndham Monroe WI — Hotel in Monroe

As experienced travelers we have covered the entire spectrum of accommodations, top to bottom, luxury to basic. To be fair, we evaluate first-time visits on the basis of value delivered for the cost. |With that, to enjoy the autumn biking in southern Wisconsin, we and another couple had a three-night stay at the Super 8 in Monroe -- which definitely exceeded our expectations. |The Super 8 is basic and generic - also clean and efficient, with a very pleasant and helpful staff - Robin and the entire team. Our room was spare but spacious, with decent storage, comfortable beds, and a satisfactory bathroom. The included breakfast had modest but adequate choices, with coffee service well above what we might have expected. The pool and hot tub were most welcome after long days on our bicycles - for which, by the way, the staff very helpfully provided secure storage in the conference room. |The lobby and halls are decorated with photos of historic dairyland Monroe - to complete the atmosphere, included in the array of vending machines near the front desk was one dedicated entirely to local cheeses and other regional products. i am not going to lie, i was a little skeptical considering it was a super 8 but i was very happy with our stay! we were in town for a wedding of my cousins & i had never been to monroe. we traveled over an hour to stay for two nights. as soon as we walked in the door we were welcomed by a delightful woman by the name of Erin. she was the sweetest, patient, kindest, accommodative, politest woman i have ever encounter at a hotel! i was VERY pleased. she made our stay a breeze! she definitely deserves a raise! it’s not every day you find friendly front desk workers! ☺️ our hotel room was nice! they had two types of pillows two being more on the firm side & two on the soft side. it was a nice mixture! i wanted to take one of them home. 🤣😉 lol. the hot tub was our go to. although i will say the hot tub was strong of bleach to the point it was burning our eyes but hey at least it was clean! haha. overall our stay was pleasant & relaxing! thank you super 8! You'll be greeted at this hotel by a front desk staff that is polite, helpful & professional. You'll notice that these characterizations carry on throughout all shifts. 🤩

There was a nice clean pool, but it was only open from 8 am to 9 pm. There was an exercise room, as well as 2 conference rooms.

The free breakfast was well prepared & its presentation was above par. Just a FEW of the choices included: warm muffins, apples, oranges, bagels, hard boiled eggs, cream cheese, waffles, syrup, tea, coffee, several types of 100% juices, peanut butter & the band played on‼️

Even the cleaning staff were pleasant, actually smiling as they went about their work & not only when they knew someone was paying attention.

This type of atmosphere is rare in ANY work environment. It can only come from the top of the staff (owner or manager, probably), then find its way down the chain of command.

I was also very pleased to find a parking space specifically dedicated for vets. Wow! How...
