Today, I placed an order for a Strawberry Matcha Latte through their online ordering platform. It said it would be ready in 20 minutes.
I got to Boba box a few minutes before the estimated eta time and walked to the front door. It was locked. Their hours said they should be open. As soon as I tried to open the front door, I saw someone run into the back through the curtain by the register. I knocked a few times on the door to no response. I proceeded to call the store. That’s when I see the employee walk out from the back and pick up the phone.
The phone call went like this: She answered and said hello. I responded hi, your front door is locked.. she states that it’s supposed to be because they’re not open until 4:30pm. I said that’s not what your hours say.. she says the opening crew didn’t come in, so they can’t open until 4:30pm and then she asked if I was the one who placed the DoorDash order. I said yes. She said we can’t fill your order and that she already refunded me.
It’s now 3 hours later and DoorDash shows the order as ready to be picked up and there’s no cancellation or refund showing up anywhere.
P.S. if you’re going to temporarily adjust your hours, put a sign on the door. Also, I feel like there should be a way to turn off orders on DoorDash so this type of thing...
Read moreMy first time trying this place because a co-worker said it's the best Boba drink in town. The store looks great, clean and spacious. Ordering was easy. I bought 3 Boba drinks but I wish the server offered to give me a bag seeing that 3 drinks will be hard to carry. So, I accidentally dropped one of the drinks on my way to the car but I am not sure if it was good that the container is a bottle with cap or unfortunate that the top wasn't one of those plastic sealed rims, it still spilled and made a mess on the street but intact enough that I saved about 75% of the drink flavored Uji matcha drink. As for the taste, their boba was chewy but some of the boba center was still hard usually signs that it's not yet done. I like my Boba fully soft and chewy but from experience, boiling Boba can be a hit or miss sometimes. The Uji matcha drink taste like one of those flower teas, i'm not a fan but I love Matcha. This place is better than those Boba drinks where they use powdered mix. I think they brew their tea because I can taste the difference, you'll be paying for that quality at 5 to 7 bucks a drink depending on what you order. But I don't think I'll go out of my way again to return to their store though, I'll probably visit when i'm in their area...
Read moreDropped by, hyped up a bit after reading reviews and looking through Boba Box's site.
I think it's rare to find that the expectations are met, let alone exceeded, but that's what happened here.
I ordered a Guava Green tea with Boba, as well as Yuzu Green tea with mango.. something.. for the topping.
The drinks took a while to prepare, but were worth the wait. The tea's aroma was strong and the flavor moderate, but not overpowering, blended well with the tea. The boba was as good as I'd ever want, evenly cooked and soft, but firm enough to be somewhat chewy.
The best part of the visit, however, was the service. The young lady taking orders gave us a friendly greeting and welcoming attitude, answering our questions without missing a beat as we ordered, then waited for our drinks.
I didn't catch her name, but this was 07/25/21, 3:30pm. 100% the kind of person that should be considered for bonuses and/or raises if applicable.
Her amiable, professional service was enough to warrant a high rating for this particular visit to Boba Box. Along with the excellent drinks, Boba Box is a...
