Recent Visit 6/27/2025: I’ve been a loyal customer of Hanna’s for the past two years and have always appreciated the quality of service, but unfortunately, my recent visit left me feeling disappointed and unsettled.
During my last few visits, I’ve noticed that the staff seems to be rushing through services, which has started to make the experience feel a bit stressful rather than relaxing. On this visit, I came in with a specific design in mind and showed the photo to Hanna, who said they could do it. However, the process became confusing and disjointed — one staff member did the base coat and manicure, but by the time she was done, Hanna was busy with another client and I was passed on to Chris for the design.
Unfortunately, Chris did not seem confident in recreating the design and kept removing and reapplying polish. When I politely pointed out a part of the design I wasn’t happy with, she became visibly irritated. Her demeanor quickly turned rude, and she began roughly handling my hands while applying lotion and wiping them down — to the point that I felt uncomfortable.
To make matters worse, after leaving the salon, I noticed one of my nails had buffing dust sealed underneath the polish. When I returned, I was told it wasn’t on the surface — meaning the polish had been applied over the dust. Some of the polish was also left in the corners of my nails, making the finish look messy and unprofessional.
This experience was very out of character for Hanna’s, and it truly saddens me to have to leave this kind of review. I did mention my concerns to the receptionist before leaving, but unfortunately, I felt dismissed.
While I do still value the work of many of the staff at Hanna’s and plan to return, I will be more mindful in the future about who does my nails — particularly when I have a specific design in mind. I’d prefer not to be passed between technicians, as that often seems to compromise the quality of the result.
I’m sharing this review in hopes that it encourages better communication and attention to detail, especially for loyal clients like myself who genuinely want to continue supporting the salon.
Hanna’s is the best nail salon in the area!! I moved to Jersey two years ago and it was so hard finding a nail salon and I stumble upon Hanna’s. The 300+ positive reviews are the most accurate reviews I’ve ever read. The salon is clean, the technicians knows their stuff, the quality of the nail polishes is amazing (your nails doesn’t chip after a day) and not watered down. The staff are nice and friendly and their appointment system is very efficient. Wait time isn’t long, you get seated right away. Everything about Hanna’s is just amazing. So glad I...
Read moreHanna who I believe is the female owner was unbelievably rude and showed terrible customer service. I have been to this nail salon several times and had such a great experience that I convinced my daughter to cancel her nail appointment at another salon and come with me to Hanna’s. We were at the nail salon two days prior and asked them what it would cost for my daughter to do her nails and they quoted her the price that I knew she would receive because that was the normal price of $55 for the buildable gel and $15 to remove the gel X. And for me I was getting a fill-in with the same buildable gel product so it would’ve been just a plain $55. Buildable gel is $55 whether it’s new or fill-in regardless yet for some reason when we went there today, Hanna said that it would cost $100 for a new set. Buildable gel is not a new set. There are no tips involved it’s just the application of this gel like product on the nail and then a polish. It’s lasts longer than regular gel or crystal gel and it’s $55 yet she insisted that it is called hard nails, even though the container that had the product clearly said builder gel and the price on the board is $55. In addition, I’ve received the service about a month ago it’s only $55. The really nice man who usually takes payments and appointments quoted $55 but Hanna was arguing with him in front of us and continued to have an extreme fit in the nail salon speaking her language; going back-and-forth with him. I understand if she disagreed with the pricing but the way she carried on was unbecoming. Had I not started my nails, we would have left. I kindly asked what was the issue because it made me and my daughter very uncomfortable. She tried to put on a smile as she gave me the price of $100 and told me that the product that clearly said buildable gel on the jar was not and hence the price. Needless to say, her behavior and the incorrect pricing is my reason for never returning. I paid $200 for me and my daughter. We tipped handsomely to our wonderful nail techs.I appreciate the kindness of Jessica and Sophie. I appreciate the kind man that collects the payments. I thank them for understanding how to treat a customer. As for Hanna, she needs to do better and learn to charge fairly according to the price board and...
Read moreI have been coming to Hanna nails for around 5 or 6 months now. Overall, they are meticulous & do great work, but after my third negative experience yesterday, it left a bad taste in my mouth. Yesterday, I was greeted upon entering & and picking my gel mani & pedi color. I got my gel pedi don't no problems. I sit down & my nail tech did one coat of the polish on my right hand and it was cured & was beginning on my left hand when Hanna comes over & goes, "this polish is $10 extra because it's very sparkly." I thought was joking... but she was serious. There was no information on the board stating that glitter nail polish is more money due to it being "more sparkly." I also wasn't given an apology or anything. Simply stated, my nail tech was off yesterday & and I didn't know, but it would be her job to tell her. I think it's absurd & this should have been something relayed to me prior to picking the color. I also had to return to work so I didn't have time to get gel taken off and pick something else. Nail salons sometimes come up with prices out of thin air, and it just doesn't feel right & this was one of those times. Spending $100 dollars on a gel mani & pedi is already on the high end, but this just felt like greed. It's basic purple glitter. If you need to charge an extra $10 for glitter, maybe you need the money that bad, but it's not good customer service to tell someone after its on their hand & cured. Bad experience number two came just around two months ago. The nail tech who used that tool to take off my gel hit my skin so many times it was raw and bleeding (2nd photo attached) and she had to put a bandaid on it. The first bad experience really has nothing to do with me but with the treatment of the pedicure nail techs. I witnessed a pretty weird interaction with Hanna telling one of the girls she did something wrong in front of all the customers when she actually didnt & it came with no apology from Hanna. It made me uncomfortable as well as the girl the nail tech was giving a pedicure to. Things like that should be handled in a professional & private way. I really wanted to keep coming back, but I don't...
