You know those bookstores you only see in TV shows or read about in cozy fiction stories? Do you wish to live out any dreams of small town magic in a beautiful bookstore? This is literally that bookstore. The assortment of choices is unbelievable. I’m able to find books here that I’ve never heard of and I haven’t seen on any other mass market publishing list of “books to read.” Everything feels personalized and considered. And that’s just the selection of books to purchase!The staff here is BEYOND unbelievable. I love every single person that works here. They are filled with a love for what they do, and for the books that they read. I have never had such an incredible experience shopping, and I can never get tired of recommending Watchung Booksellers to literally everybody. I’ve been going here since I moved to the area maybe three years ago, and they know me so well at this point that I’m greeted as I walk in. But it really doesn’t matter who you are, it really feels like a giant book family here. I literally won’t go anywhere...

Probably the best and coziest independent bookstore in North Jersey. The sales staff are knowledgeable and the books pulled are always unique and enticing. I read A LOT (about a book a day) and this is one of those places where I can regularly discover books I've never heard of before, but also find the books I'm looking for (or have them order it for me) - a rare treat for me. The store greatly supports the community and the community loves the store back. Come on in if you want the best Shop Around the Corner vibes in real life. (P.S. Stephen Colbert briefly visits here with Jerry Seinfeld on Colbert's episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. You can see why Montclair native Colbert can't resist this...

It is simply a hometown bookstore to me...I grew up here, and some of my classmates male & female are actual published authors.

One guy I know is a real SUPERHERO, kids of all ages still reading the comic books...They are EVERYWHERE around this town.

but I can't reveal his secret identity online now, can I?!?

Something VERY special must still be in the tap water we all drank everywhere as kids in the Tri-State area of NYC, even right out of a garden hose back in the day.

I ALWAYS don't buy much bottled water because I really don't have to...
