Rakuichi Ramen — Restaurant in Montgomery Township

Ordered online through their website. The cashier didn't admit to it but it was obvious they never saw or started my order despite sending me a text as to the exact time my order would be ready. Once I got there, I proceeded to wait there an additional 30 minutes (on top of the 40 mins after ordering). In the meantime, none of the staff apologized or offered anything to make it right.

On top of that, most importantly, when you order pickup online, they show you one price at checkout but when you get there to pay they charge you an automatic 20% gratuity. I saw the actual internal receipt the cashier had, then I understood he just added 20% to that under my nose when he handed me "my receipt". This place can contest that all they want but that's what they're doing. You could imagine my frustration in paying a 20% gratuity for a complete lack of service, waiting there an additional 30 minutes. I've reached out to them, to be compensated back the 20%, and have heard nothing back.

Also, this could be bias at this point, but the food? Meh. Smell ya later...

Husband and I came for dinner. We ordered crispy calamari, edamame, spring rolls, scallion pancakes, grilled shrimp salad, and chicken ramen.

Everything was freshly prepared and came out piping hot. Portions were a good size for either a single person or 2 Edamame was well prepared. The chicken ramen was made well, chicken cooked properly. Spicy option was available for the ramen. Spring rolls were a good size for the price, sauce was tasty and sweet. Calamari came out very greasy and had the texture of octopus. The sauce with it was quite good though.

I was a bit disappointed in the salad, the shrimp were charred and that char overpowered the flavor, the "greens" in the salad were literally just iceburg lettuce. The other components of the salad were fresh and tasted nice.

So good!! We were visiting family and came in for dinner on Saturday night and everything was amazing. Scallion pancakes, takoyaki, chasu buns, everything was delicious!! I had the crispy spicy chicken doburi and it was top 10 best foods I've ever eaten, ever. My fervent prayer now is that the people of North Wales and the locals don't let this place go to waste! You have a PHENOMENAL LEGITIMATE Ramen shop, please embrace it and give them your business!!! Congrats Rakuichi Team!!!

Updated 21AUG22: We were able to visit PA again this last week and found A TON of people were checking out Rakuichi!! The food has not changed at all, it was as delicious and fulfilling as the opening weekend. While the food is phenomenal, the staff is the real treat.
