Brooklyn Pizza & Pasta — Restaurant in Montgomery

This place was referred to me by a relative.

First of all I am in the restaurant business so I understand the difficulties and especially today’s challenges with labor, etc.

But my experience here was one of the worst I’ve had in a long time. Let me explain. My wife and I went in there as I said, based on a recommendation. After this experience why anyone would recommend this place I don’t know.

We each just wanted One slice to try it out. The young woman behind the counter told me today’s choices for single slices were cheese and pepperoni. I assumed that to meant pepperoni with cheese. I think what she meant to convey was plain cheese or pepperoni, I told her we would take two slices .

Before I get to what happened, most of the tables were dirty. I could see at least four people in the back but no one was busing tables. We found the cleanest table we could find and sat down. The same young woman delivered two slices of plain cheese pizza. I told her that’s not what we ordered and she attempted to explain the difference. She slammed both pieces of cheese down on the table and went off and a huff. I could then here her ranting out loud in the back and can only assume it was about me.

They brought two additional slices of pepperoni. They then presented me with a check for the two additional slices, in addition to the two they already delivered, so four slicers no conversation no apologies no explanation whatsoever.

I paid the check. I then asked to speak to a manager. A young man came out and introduced himself as the owners nephew. He listened and then informed me that the young woman who took my order was the owners daughter.

Bingo. She’s bulletproof as the owners daughter and doesn’t have to take responsibility for what was potentially her own mistake. Worse yet no conversation. She just disappeared after delivering the plain cheese slices.

For the rudeness of that owner‘s daughter and the filthy nature of the restaurant tables, I will never be back and I will tell everyone of my experience as I know it to be true. I don’t care so much about the seven dollars what I care about is that the extra check was put on my table with no conversation and no Caring

The pizza was not good either as a side not but the owners daughter capped it off for me.

Do yourself a favor and go somewhere...

We came to the restaurant around 7 pm. Restaurant was empty with only 2 tables being used and a total of 8 patrons. Both parties were finishing up so all in all very slow.

Took about 5 min for us to be waited on at the counter. We were the only ones in line. My wife and I contemplated on leaving and honestly we should have because our experience just got worse.

For starters the young female who took our older seemed to have no desire to be there. She was very quiet and showed zero enthusiasm. We felt like we were bothering her when placing our older.

We ended up ordering an older of knots, 1 caprese salad and 2 ten inch pizzas. We placed our older at exactly 7:22 PM (time stamp on the receipt). The knots came out rather quick as did the salad however pizza number one didn't come out for 28 minutes and the pizza was cold. Pizza number 2 (reminder we are dining in) came out at least 10 min later which is absurd. When pizza 1 came out it was cold however was the normal 10 inch size pizza we expected however again it was cold. When the 2nd pizza came out it was much smaller (substantially smaller) then the other.

Here is what I think happened. The order was placed however when we reminded the person who took our order that we ordered a second pizza they quickly put it together which resulted in a sub par/smaller and less valued pizza. I do have a picture of the second pizza which I can share if necessary.

Again from start to finish we had a terrible experience. We have been to Brooklyns at least 5x before and until tonight had awesome service and high valued food. Within 10 miles there is over 25 pizza options that we could choose from and we chose Brooklyns. With the competition this high I am very surprised and dissapointed at the same time on how we were served this evening.

I expect a private email from the owner for a discussion of full reimbursement.

I’m from Brooklyn. This is not anything like Brooklyn Pizza. Or Brooklyn Italian food. There is never hardly any sauce on the pizza the few times I tried it. no garlic taste it’s doughy , not flat and crisp so I haven’t gone back in years Pizza needs sauce Today I gave it a try after years of driving past it daily. I really was in the mood for eggplant parmigiana. I brought it home for pick up. It looked nice size looked good. Unfortunately it was horrible. The sauce is horrible. It’s so bad . Its taste is just a mixture of I don’t know what. It’s extremely thick and it tastes like some kind of filler and a spice That tastes bad . I can’t detect any tomatoes and the eggplant tastes like it is refrozen. , the cheese is leathery and possibly not mozzarella it’s thick and dry. Not soft and stringy. It must’ve been frozen and although it’s red. It might be sun dried tomatoes and it tastes like cinnamon which has no place in Italian sauce . The eggplant did not taste like it was made that day.
