I really don't like to give 5 stars across the board. But, honestly, Stone Creek Dining deserves it. We visited here late one evening to celebrate my grand-daughter's confirmation. Such a lovely place. Stone Creek closed at 9:00 pm, and we had to make our reservations for 8:45. They did not even blink, but only said because of the late time to come with our dinner choices ready. But we did not feel rushed in the least. To begin with, we were served warm bread with a spicy olive oil dip with our veverage order. Quite good. They also brought butter for those who preferred. The salads were all fresh and tasty, even though our reservation was for 15 minutes before the kitchen closed. For an appetizer I ordered the shrimp cocktail. The five shrimp were very large and nicely chilled -- even the plate. Several of us chose the filet mignon for our entrees. Whether 6 oz or 8 oz, the result was still the same. Perfection. I appreciated that there were a couple sizes from which to choose. I don't believe I have ever had a better-cooked filet. I could almost cut it with a fork, and it was cooked perfectly as I asked. The only thing I would say is that it comes with parmesan cheese cooked onto the top of the steak; and while it was quite good, I am normally quite the steak purest: salt, pepper, garlic. done and done. So, just a note for people with similar tastes. I would say, if you want a good steak of any kind, this is the place to go. The steak dinner came with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus with herb butter. Delicious. There was not a HUGE amount of potatoes, which I so appreciated (because when I order a steak dinner, I want it to be steak-forward!), and the asparagus was cooked perfectly -- a tender crunch. My husband ordered the Bucatini, which was equally delicious and very meaty. There was not a complaint with any dish that was ordered. Overall, Stone Creek Dining is a lovely place to dine. The decor was understated, but elegant. The service was great, and everyone was kind. They took the time to take us to the wine vault for a family photo, which was very thoughtful. I would highly recommend visiting Stone Creek Dining for any occasion, or just if you want a perfect meal in a lovely environment.

My wife and I visited for the first time this past weekend. We where there celebrating our 1 year anniversary. The atmosphere was fantastic and they one of the sexist bars in the area. We sat near the wine cellar, which is very modern and has a good view of the open kitchen. We waited a few minutes for the server to first arrive. When she did I could tell that she was behind. We decided to place an app and drink order and allow her some time to get caught up. Some time had passed and we could tell that she probably had forgotten to place our app order. I waived down the manager (Andrew) who quickly came over. I asked if we could have some bread while we where waiting. Andrew quickly came back with the bread, made some small talk and found out that we where there to celebrate. I'm guessing he followed up with the server and found that indeed our app had not been placed. I quickly apologized, corrected and followed up with everything. My wife had the Fillet and I had the NY Strip. Both where cooked perfectly. The triple dip app was fantastic and I can't believe I saw my wife eat Brussel sprouts. We also both had a salad; I would recommend the Wedge 100%. My wife wasn't a big fan of the Caesar, she said something in it made it taste spicy. Andrew also sent us home with some carrot cake, which was wonderful too. All in all our first visit to Stone Creek was great. There was a slight hiccup in the beginning, but again Andrew step right in and made everything better. We will definitely be back to try what looked like a rock'in menu.

I had the pleasure of dining in Stone Creek restaurant with my wife and a few of our close friends. We were met by the maitre d and older white female named Barbara. She was very sarcastic and demeaning by asking my wife and I why were we at the restaurant. She said I quote what do you want here. My wife replied we have reservations. She then said you can either walk around or I can show you to your seat. Is set a mood that we didn't need for a birthday celebration. The rest of the staff including our waiter was fantastic. I paid attention to Miss Barbara and she seemed very unfriendly every time she came near our table. Then I discovered that every one of my African-American friends were treated badly by the same lady. Get my white friends we're treated well by the same woman Barbara. I left feeling that this was a White's only establishment. In the parking lot I asked each one of them to write a review of the restaurant. The photos is indicative tehan left the restaurant feeling. I noticed that after several weeks no one even apologized for the treatment of my party. I also noticed that all responses were to white patrons for good or bad service!

Capsule: Overpriced, average food, poor service.

I took a colleague and my wife there over lunch for his birthday. The total bill came in just under $90 for the three of us.

I had the AYCE Soup and Salad. The soups I picked were the French Onion, which was comparable to Panera, and the Spicy Gumbo, which was terrible. The gumbo was occasionally spicy, but it lacked any depth - pretty much warmed over canned soup. The salads were basic fare (Caeser) like you would expect from Outback or Longhorn.

My wife had the Salmon Salad - she had the salmon blackened. The cook burned more than blackened it and under-cooked it too boot. The salad part was a bit more acceptable to her, but still it was nothing you cannot get at any generic steakhouse.

My co-worker had the Gumbo along with the Applewood Chicken Salad, plus 2 glasses of wine and a coffee. He also found the gumbo bland. The salad was average as was the coffee. He wine was decent - the second mini-carafe was over-filled so that was a bonus for him.

For an appetizer we had the lump crab cake. All of us rated that as the best part of the meal.

Nicole, our waitress, was a disaster - terribly slow and gone for long periods. The food may have been uninspired and wan, but the service took it down a notch from there. They drop off a bottle of water at the table, which with four of us was empty pretty quick. Then it took forever to get another one - all of our glasses were sitting empty before out waitress finally made an appearance and dropped off another one. My wife had to flag her back to get a refill of her tea before she whisked off to hide once again.

Getting a refill of my soup and salad nearly required a writ from the Pope to finally get Nicole to swing by once again and check on us.

EDIT: My first review was for 1 Star and given my experience at the time I still stand by it. However, I rarely refuse to return to a restaurant after a single try. There are just too many variables that might not have clicked that time - we have all had to moments. I returned for a second visit and it was much improved. I still think there are better locations in Montgomery to visit, but I am bumping it to 3 starts on account of the better...

Mother's Day 2025

The service here( Im talking about our specific server) was terrible today. Her name was...I wont say it. We will call her Ghost. As a matter of fact, it was horrible. We had to ask for everything. We sat outside and ask for an umbrella. It got warm. We had our 18 month old granddaughter with us and the sun was shifting. The server left and said she would get it. After 20 minutes of no help I finally had to do it myself. Each response to our request for anything was met by a 15-20 minute wait or " I forgot ". Had to ask twice several times. No cloth napkins no salt and pepper, no utensils. Wait. I forgot. Wait a little longer. Each item had lagtime. Ordered one round of drinks and never got offerd a second. Not even a refreshed water glass until the end. Walked away from my wife when she did ask for a refill. My wife had to walk to the bar to get more waters and a coke for herself. My father ask for napkins and she looked down at wet cocktail napkins that was sitting on the table..maybe that's what this place expects you to clean your hands with.(Which is cool if its a dive bar). But Mothers Day? This is A-game day for most resturaunts. Concluding our experience for the day, our server (Ghost) proceeded to tell us about the employee cook out that they were having it the back and that she was eating in the back (a burger snd chips she said). She also seemed to somewhat apologize for her performance at end(You know..check and gratuity) of the meal but part of me believed she might have been acting facetious.

I wanted to like this place...but it is hard. Everyone enjoyed the meal here. The food was good. My Ceasar salad felt a little warm like it was left out a little to long(room tempature) but I got steak on it so it's hard to say. I might have ordered desert if asked but never given the opportunity. Boo.

At least my granddaughter got a...
