This has to be the worst Olive Garden in the history of Olive Garden restaurants...Actually, the worst restaurant in the Darden Restaurant Group. Will preface the following review, with the fact that I realize we were not dining at Chez Paul, although the service at this restaurant was beyond terrible.
My family and I were on a road trip. We typically never stop at a sit down restaurant, although we wanted to eat and spend about 45 minutes to miss the worst part of the traffic in Atlanta. When we walked into the restaurant around 3:45 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018, there was literally no one dining there. There were 4 or 5 people standing at the bar. We could hear them complaining that their takeout orders were wrong and/or late. I asked for a table for four people. The three people at the host/hostess desk all looked confused. We waited in the lobby for five minutes and were finally seated in a tiny booth table in the middle of the otherwise empty bar area. The size of this table felt like it was designed for the kids who were too small to make the main table!
After sitting at this “booth”, we waited another 5 minutes for our server to come by. He was apparently the bartender and gave off the vibe that he could literally give two sh**s about us, anyone in the restaurant, or life in general. I explained to the server that we were on a road trip and wanted to go ahead and place our order right away. He looked at me like I was some sort of deranged lunatic, asked for our drink order, and grunted something as walked away. He came back with the drinks several minutes later, took our food order, and THEN HE LITERALLY NEVER CAME BACK TO THE TABLE AGAIN.
We noticed this joker walking out the front door carrying a huge sack of takeout food with a couple of his friends. After 20 minutes, I kept flagging down different hostess and other restaurant employees to try and find out that status of our food. When the food was brought to our table it was awful, luke warm and extremely bland. I know that this is not fine dining, although how do you mess up macaroni and cheese for kids? At the end of our meal, it took another ten minutes of asking people to get our check. Another bar tender walked over with the check. Apparently, there was a shift change. She must have gone to the same customer service school as the first bartender, as she never stopped by to explain the shift change or check on us, at all. Again, I would be somewhat forgiving is this placed was slammed, however, it was 4:30 p.m. and the restaurant was empty.
It is noteworthy to mention that the only saving grace was a woman working at a server in a different section who could obviously see how bad the service was. She stopped by and helped us and I flagged her down several other times, including to get the check. Because of her going out of the way, I wanted to give this review two stars, although the rest of the service food, and whole dining experience was too awful and frustrating.
There is not a survey link or corporate phone number on the receipts that I received. Hopefully, this review will make its way to someone who can address basic customer service and restaurant management at this...
Read moreLONG POST BUT WORTH THE READ! From the time we walked in, everything was terrible! We got there at 8:50 (mind you they don’t close until 10) as soon as we walked through the door, the bartender screams out, “we close at 10 so the bar is closed!” The young lady didn’t even have time to greet us first! When we got to our table, we already knew what we wanted so we placed our order when our waiter asked what would we like to drink. We ordered our appetizer, entree’s, and drinks. It took them 30 minutes to bring out 1 appetizer! And 10pm comes AND WE STILL HAVEN’T GOT OUR FOOD! (It wasn’t busy either) So at this point it’s been over a hour and all we got is our beverage and appetizer (salad and breadsticks as well) after waiting so long we decided to just leave and asked for the ticket for our drink and appetizer. Our waiter was no where to be found so we told the first person that we seen that we just wanted our ticket for the drink and appetizer and we just wanted to cancel the order. It took them 20 minutes to just get that! And then the waiter proceeds to say, “oh the food already done now” if so, WHY DON’T WE HAVE IT? We asked for a manager because he was hesitant to cancel the order. He finally prints off the ticket and tried to charge me for the salad that’s suppose to be free! The manager finally arrives and I tell her everything that went on and throws out the tickets. The whole entire time we here the workers back there in the kitchen playing and trying drinks that the bartender made! I let the manager know that this was the worst Olive Garden that I’ve ever been to and everything was a F for failure! It was a couple sitting next to us and that was there way before us and they didn’t get their food until after 10 as well! And couldn’t even enjoy it bc they brung out to go boxes with their order for them bc they was about to close! Everything about this location is rude, unprofessional, and “ghetto”! A complete circus. I’ll never go back again, even if it was the last standing food...
Read moreI have always enjoyed Olive Garden and received great service until last night. Our server was rude and extremely unprofessional. She brought out wet wine glasses and said we were going to have to be patient that she had 3 other tables. When she came back she started to pour wine and I ask her to wait a minute and let me tell her my order ( Which was the glass and a half) she cut me off and said let me pour this wine first. I explained that the order would wrong, just let me explain. I showed her the menu and she said she new that my husband would get a glass of wine and I would get a half. I told her no that was not correct. My husband just wanted a glass and I wanted the glass and a half. She left table and we decided this was not the place for us.There was so many things that were inappropriate by the server, her tone was short and bossy. As we made our way to door, she was coming toward us (with correct order) she yelled to mgr, they just went out the door. The manager came out And I went to talk to manager. Server came and stood with us as I explained all the issues we had experience with server. I addressed mgr only and server kept interupting and she stepped into my personal space and said," No woman is going to talk to me this way". She also said, "I am going to college just like you".Which had nothing to do with situation at all. I am 60yrs old. The mgr told her to go to back. Mgr had several times advised her to be quiet.I explained to mgr that if she was new, she should how told us and we would have helped her and been very understanding. Server interrupted and said ,"I would never tell you I was new". Mgr was professional with this situationand apologized for server. The server was new and needs more training and a new attitude. Olive Garden will lose a lot of business if this server doesn't change her behavior.I will be going back to Olive Garden, but never that Olive Garden just off of Vaughn Road in...
