Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Montgomery

The Popeye Louisiana Kitchen located at 2797 Eastern Blvd Montgomery AL, 36117 has atrocious customer service and does not follow safe, clean protocols when preparing orders. On 2/18/24, I watched the cashier scratch her braids with long acrylic nails, handle money and touch a pen without washing her hands or wearing gloves. She actually touched the wax paper that line the bottom of the box AND arranged chicken with her finger tips. Shortly, another crew member (with long acrylic nails} tapped on her phone then turned around to touch paper liners and food WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS OR WEARING GLOVES. While standing there, I noticed the only people wearing gloves were the males in the back who were cooking the chicken. When I approached the counter, after watching her prepare three orders, I quietly asked why the workers touching boxes and food were not wearing gloves and she was scratching her head while serving food. She angrily replied "gloves are not mandatory". I will NEVER patronize this filthy restaurant again. Terrible terrible service. While in the drive thru, they were snappy while taking the order, and couldn't get the order right at the window. After getting it sorted out, we were told to park to wait for our order to come. After 15 minutes, and without food, 5 different employees left the building for a smoke break while the rest of the drive thru continued to pile up while no one was being served. After a total of 25 minutes, we went inside to see what was going on, no one was making food, and all of the 6 employees who were actually inside the building were standing around talking. Having worked at Chick-fil-A, it digusted me to see and experience such lack of service. After waiting at the desk for someone from the deep back of the kitchen to realize I was there, and without losing my cool had to explain that we had been waiting so long with nothing coming. Come to find out, our order had been filled and been sitting, cold, on the inside of the drive thru window corridor. Appalled, and frankly downright disgusted with the service, I will never be going to this...

The lady who took our order asked us to wait and then when she was ready rushed us to take our order. We couldn't understand her and she apparently couldn't understand us either. She kept trying to tell us our total before we finish our order then she cut us off and told us to finish our order at the window. So when we pulled up the lady there was very rude to us as well and told us she can't take any orders at the window! She claimed she wasn't the lady who took our order and tried to push our incomplete order through our window. We told her to get the manager because their behavior was completely unacceptable. The manager was very sweet and understanding and very apologetic. While we spoke with the manager I saw the rude employee snapping and being rude to another employee. There are too many people needed jobs to keep rude, disrespectful staff like these two girls at the drive through. The manager did great but I definitely won't return while those girls are working there and I recommend that no one goes there either until better...
