Shane's Rib Shack — Restaurant in Montgomery

We are long time customers of Shanes and even tried supportinh them during the pandemic. Usually it is our go to place for Barbeque. We ate there last night and I unexpectedly I found an insect in the pulled pork. Unfortunately I didn't find it until it was already in my mouth. I felt sick to my stomach. I took my plate back up to the counter and it was taken in the back and I was told, "Give me a second." We waited almost 15 minutes and they never came back out to address the situation. They stayed back there SO LONG, my husband had time to completely finish his meal....while I sat there and watched. They DID come out to help one other customer, but they wouldn't even look my way, as I was sitting back at our table. I finally had to go back up to the counter to see if they weren't going to remedy the situation. They told they had already thrown the meal away and wanted to argue that I had eaten all of the pork and the only thing left on the plate, was baked beans. This is not true. I mixed the beans in WITH the pork, because I like the sauce on THEM better than the BBQ sauce in the meat. I(A always mix them together!) If I had not stopped back by the counter on our way out, I don't think they ever intended to do anything. The person who finally came out to address us said that "he had been there for 4 years and had never had a complaint like that before." Really? You have NEVER had a fly get into your kitchen thru the back door???? You just didn;'t see this one and he landed in the meat....which ended up on my plate. They DID give us a partial refund because (in thier word) - "you ate the potato salad). We are not talking about a huge amount of money here. The plate I got was $10.99. If I was the manager of a restaurant, I would be horrified if someone found a BUG in their food, and I would do whatever I had to do to make it right. Instead we were treated like we made the whole thing up and they were incredibly rude. You just lost our business and it is not even because of the damn bug.....but SPECIFICALLY because of the rudeness of the person handling the situation. I don't think I have ever left a negative review for anyone in my life....you pushed all the wrong buttons. I just wish I had thought to take a photo, but believe me....you wouldn't have wanted to see a chewed up fly. Don't waste my time with a response. There is nothing you can do now, that would ever convince me to come back....and I will share this...

I stopped by to pick up an order for a gentleman who is currently unable to drive. After taking the other and scanning my card, I was informed that the system was down and was asked if I would mind waiting for 10mins for them to restart the system? I explained that I didn't mind waiting, but after 15 minutes, I inquired about the status of the system. The girl stated that she didn't know what to do..smh The manager asked me if there was a problem and I explained the issue to him. When I tell you that he was the most disrespectful, childish, dumbest person that I have ever encountered as a manager. He made all types of weird and inappropriate facial expressions as if he had issues beyond what medication could treat. I asked him to void the order and to be sure not to charge my card, & he began to roll his eyes repeatedly, in addition to bucking them. It's sad when an establishment promotes someone who is disrespectful, childish, and inept for that position. I don't eat the food because it's always overcooked and tastes like slop.NEVER will I allow anyone to bring this junk to my office again, nor will I go there. 12/26/2019 Current review: still 5 🌟⭐🌟⭐🌟 Togo orders called in, was placed on hold for whatever reason. Ordered Chopped BBQ plate with baked beans & coleslaw Extra side of Fried okra & Peach cobbler. Order ready when I arrived. I VERY MUCH like their practice of opening up your Togo box & showing your food & repeating your order back to you to assure that you leave with the correct meal. BBQ sauce given at your request. Order total was $15.⁰⁴ Cashier young girl who only spoke to ask me to sign transaction form. Servers busy sweeping floor & refilling table condiments. Great fresh food & they give you big portions. Tender flavorful BBQ, gigantic burgers (especially the shaneic burger) yummy Mac & ne..m, crunchy onion rings, good mayo base coleslaw (which comes on the Shaneic burger along with BBQ... this burger is like 2, maybe 3 meals for me to eat) The to-go orders have always been correct & the staff are busy yet not too busy to provide good customer service.

They also have a rewards program that you just punch in your phone number and after so many purchases you get...
