UPDATE: Sushi Box has boba and Japanese Sodas now! If you love bubble tea then you’ll love choosing one of their 5 offered flavors. They also have different choices for add ins. I got the peach tea with the crystal boba. It was really good. I also got a peach sparkling water. If you love clearly Canadian, then you’ll love this! I ate in this time and enjoyed my California roll and crab Rangoon. Staff was friendly as always. 5 stars for the new menu additions! If you love poke bowls, sushi, and East Asian appetizers you’ll love Sushi Box! Sushi Box is a relatively new addition to the area and so far I’m very pleased with the quality of the food and the service. I’ve visited 3 times so far and enjoyed the food each time. If you’re ordering to go, use their website or app! Do not use yelp! Yelp overcharges you for menu items and adds fees after the fact. You can also call and place an order. I’ve used the website to order twice and my food has always been made exactly to order. My only criticism of the website is they should add descriptions of the menu items and sauces for people who may not be familiar with sushi. First time ordering, I ordered a BYO (build your own) poke bowl and crab rangoon. The server let me try the sweet ginger and one other sauce to see which one I liked. I went with the sweet ginger. The table area is spacious and clean. They give you an order pager. It’s relatively quiet inside with a serene feel overall. If you were ordering to eat in, there’s a self service drink station and a table with to-go boxes if you don’t finish your food. My second visit, I ordered to-go using the website, which was quick and easy, for dinner. After my order was placed I received a text message when it was ready. I ordered four sushi rolls and one bowl for my family to share. If you order sushi combos you can save a bit rather than ordering individual rolls. They have raw and cooked rolls, my family loves raw. The spicy tuna roll was “ok”. Whenever I go to a new sushi spot I always order a simple roll and a fancier one. If you need a lot of bells and whistles to make your sushi good, it’s probably more of a western take on sushi. The spicy tuna roll was just ok. The other rolls were great. The poke bowl was good, I ordered a menu one but my daughter agreed that the BYO is better than the ones on the menu. We all really like their crab rangoon! It’s just so yummy! I like where the restaurant is located, they have outdoor seating and you don’t have to fight eastchase traffic to get there. If you live on the east side of Vaughn road or Taylor, this is a nice place to try out. I recommend the BYO bowl based off the veggies and toppings you...
Read moreThe millions of times I've ordered here, I never had a problem, until recently. About 3 weeks ago I came in and ordered a sushi bowl with a miso soup, and the bowl was lukewarm, like the meat was not cooked fresh. I bypassed it, and didn't worry about it.
Recently, a few weeks ago, I may ordered a salmon and shrimp bowl, and my salmon was kinda cold, but my shrimp was piping hot. 🤔
Fast forward to a few days ago, I ordered the same thing. This time, I called ahead to make sure my phone was cooked fresh, and the cashier made it very difficult, bc she kept explaining how it was not their fault that the the food was a certain way. Mind you, my house is only 15 min away from the restaurant, and the doordasher came straight here, so I had every reason to call and make sure I was getting what I paid for. She was very argumentative, which caused me to speak to a manager about it. He said he would talk to her and I left it alone. When that order got to my home, there were bones still in the salmon, so I do not know what this restaurant is trying to pull, but I felt neglected as a customer and probably will...
Read moreThis establishment is very unprofessional and whoever was behind the register on August 16th around lunch time needs to learn proper customer service. I called in a pickup order at 12:35 (a teriyaki chicken bowl and a dynamite roll) I got to the restaurant at 12:50 and I was told my food was still being worked on which is fine. I go sit down where I am clearly still visible by the cashier who told me my order was still being worked on. People are coming in after me who also placed pick up orders is getting their food right away. People are coming in after me and placing to go orders are getting their food before me. After waiting around after an hour when my food was initially placed via phone call. I go up to the counter and ask about my food and why was my food sitting on the counter? Correct me if I’m wrong but shouldn’t the cashier have called me over when my food was ready? That is just unacceptable and I will...
