OH! MY! GOSH! This was delicious! This was our first, but definitely not our last visit and we were impressed. Our waitress was patient, informative, helpful, and active throughout or dining experience. The food was fresh and as busy as it was the bar remained clean and well stocked. I don’t know exactly when we’ll be back, but WE! WILL! BE! BACK!
It’s fair that you know not to expect a Golden Corral type setup. If that’s what you prefer, then this is not for you. Here, you select your ingredients from a bar and prepare your meal at your table. If you enjoy Korean food, please give this a try. The American food options are limited and more so kid friendly, but those are also tasty.
Lastly, there is something for everyone so don’t shy away because you are vegan, vegetarian, or a pescatarian. Give it a try, I hope you enjoy this as much as we did.
Update: After nearly 9 months we still visit, possibly once a month sometimes two times a month. We still enjoy each experience, as we did the first. Small changes have been made, but for the consumer’s benefit. Food options, including dessert, have increased (s/n we were never bothered by the lack of dessert), and the service is still great. Every waiter/waitress has been friendly, helpful, patient and informative. I still strongly suggest giving them a try if you haven’t already. Please be aware that there is an additional charge for wasting food which we believe is fair. If you want to try something, ok fine, but retrieve a VERY small portion as to avoid being wasteful . After all, what you don’t eat is a waste and even though you’re paying for it the restaurant has to increase its purchase quantity to compensate for wastefulness and ultimately that increases prices. As it stands the price to eat here is fair, please do not abuse that. From a restaurant’s point-of-view wasted food is a sign that they aren’t charging enough. Please do NOT waste food, but definitely do enjoy your experience. To be clear, the charge isn’t for very small quantities, but I assume this is subjective. We have never been charge and we dine with teenagers that are sometimes expanding their pallet, however, we have seen tables where we were pretty certain they were charged, which would have been fair.
Update: One year in and we still enjoy our visits. However, we recommend a deep cleaning of the vents, fixtures etc. Because you prepare your food at the table, there is a lingering smell (it comes from the excessive cooking and burning of oil) that is becoming a bit overwhelming that may keep us from dining in the future. We have never had any issues with service, food quality etc., but the smell seems to become worse every time. We may give it another go and if we walk in and it's worse than the last time, we will likely...
Read moreCame here for dinner 1/24/25 and Cia was my server. She was wonderful, just a very sweet young lady who was polite and funny. Her section was very busy, but she stayed on top of everything I needed without me feeling pestered or neglected, and I really appreciate that🥰 Oman also would occasionally walk by to help and make small conversations that were pleasant since I was able to eat here as a loner. This is the first korean BBQ AND HOT POT place I've been to where they let a single person come eat. Typically, places back home (in georgia or when I'm in texas) will send me away and say there has to be a minimum of 2 people for the buffet, so unfair!
The food here was fresh and seasoned/ marinated so beautifully (especially those ribs and bulgogi pork belly) Y'all, I can not say this enough, I wish I had more tummy space because I did not want to stop eating because I loved the flavors so much! I ordered the miso base for my hot pot, and it was so delicious, especially with added lotus and mushrooms in there 😋 The quails eggs surprised me because they were so well balanced and not just straight up overcooked before I could get it to my bowl (nice and soft creamy center) I wanted like 3 more full plates of the bulgogi pork belly and ribs, but my stomach told me I had no room unfortunately 😫 Their hot green tea was a nice full-bodied tea and the atmosphere was busy but that's because it was a Friday night and they are so good that it was packed! That is always a great sign to me. I am sad to hear there isn't a location near Atlanta where I somewhat live but this just means every time I come work here in Montgomery, I'll be finishing my night here, because why wouldn't I with such a wonderful restaurant as this?!
If y'all read these reviews I just wanted to say thank you to the staff, from the lovely young lady who greeted me at the door with a smile, to Cia and Oman, and the excellent kitchen crew who help hold it all together 😘🤌...
Read moreIt was my first time here with my boyfriend for our anniversary and let’s just say we really enjoyed eating here. (Although he would’ve prefer Korean bbq after trying the hotpot, he think the broth is not necessary for him to cook the meat). I really prefer having to get your own plate than having to order by the table, this way you can control how much you can eat.
Our waiter was super friendly and nice to explain to us for our first time at their restaurant. The hotpot is definitely on the smaller side than I’m use to but it’s super cut and convenient for space wise.
I really enjoyed the dumplings, my favorite are the shrimp dumplings. I’ve been craving dumplings to dip in chili oil and it was just the best here! I pair udon noodles with beef brisket. The pea shoots are an absolute must have staple for a side dish when eating. The sauce bar is also pretty cool to make your own dipping, my usual is chili oil with cilantro, green onion, soy sauce and fish sauce. I would also recommend Japanese Miso for more of a savory broth.
My boyfriend really enjoyed the fried chicken wings and chicken nuggets 😂! The cooked meat was also good as well, he could’ve eaten a lot more but he didn’t want to eat if I wasn’t eating/done eating.
My only complaint would be the kimchi tasted bitter and not really to my liking. Later into my meal I took a bite of my kimchi and it felt like I was eating sand or had grinded a bit of my tooth out, I did not enjoy that bite at all.
At the end my partner and I were charged for dinner even though it was still lunch hours, which was fixed when I mention this to the waiter who brought our receipt. $20.95/ adult + drinks so around $25 per person.
Note: lots of veggies/vegetarian options for Hot pot, however Korean BBQ had mostly meat options. Side dishes / appetizers were like chicken nuggets, chicken wings, fried roll, egg tart, kimchi, radish kimchi, bean sprouts,...
