Drove 1.5 hours for chicken. No regrets. No survivors. Just bones.
This isn’t sponsored. No collab. Just one very full, very happy customer.
I don’t usually write reviews. Feels kind of dramatic, right? But here I am because this chicken changed my plans and possibly my personality.
I drove an hour and a half from Fort Novosel just to eat here. Ate. Got back in the car. Drove home. And I’d absolutely do it again.
We ordered sweet potato fries, rose tteokbokki, yangnyeom chicken, fried chicken, and boneless honey garlic chicken. Every single thing was a hit.
The sweet potato fries were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside with a natural sweetness that didn’t even need sugar. The rose tteokbokki was creamy with a gentle kick, perfectly balanced. Even my kid loved it. The yangnyeom chicken was sweet, tangy, and still crispy. Packed with flavor. The fried chicken was golden, juicy, well seasoned, and not greasy at all. The boneless honey garlic chicken was tender and sweet in just the right way. Kid-friendly and me-approved.
Pro tip. Dip the sweet potato fries in the rose tteokbokki sauce. It’s unreal. Another tip. Take that fried chicken and dunk it in the rose sauce too. Insanely good. You’ll wonder why you ever ate it any other way.
This is the kind of meal that makes you roll up your sleeves and unbutton your cuffs without realizing it.
Is it worth the drive? Yes. One hundred percent. Bring your friends, your kids, your stretchy pants. And if you see someone blissed out with sauce on their face, that...
Read moreI found this restaurant picking up an Uber order. My friend wanted Taco Bell but I recommended this restaurant because I love food and wanted to try some place new. We would have done better getting Taco Bell. I will be fair because I do not eat this food regularly, but Korean food is not for us. It was a lot of sweet, spicy and a load of garlic. This is the day after and I still smell/taste garlic. Our server must have been new because her knowledge of the menu was like 10% and she called herself trying to correct me about cheese and creamy but couldn't tell me what made the dish creamy, so I passed. I watch Mukbang videos and made my selection off dishes I have seen. I ordered the secret sauce wings and the secret is a load of garlic with fries. The server did not listen when I asked for fries and did not remember to pick them up from the kitchen after being reminded. She brought everything separate which made no sense. EVERYTHING WAS SOLD SEPARATE. The chicken strip seasoning taste off and it was a little spicy. So the bill was $51. She never asked if we needed refills. A plus was the bathroom, it was clean, beautiful and stocked. The dining area as well was clean and comfy. I do not recommend because I...
Read moreI first ate at this chain in New York City a year ago. I was pleasantly surprised when I was looking for somewhere new to eat and I saw that a location was opened in Montgomery. This place has lots of options. I will say the best I think I had were the Cheeseling fries which are fries heavily dusted in a cheese like dust and drizzled with a sweet sauce. These were delicious. I also had the honey garlic wings. There were differences here between the one in here than the one in NYC. First off, the wings are cooked to order. In NYC they have the wings in a warmer and in prepackaged boxes where you just pick up the box you want and in the flavor you want. The wings in NYC seemed cooked less hard and were soaked in the sauce. The wings at this location were cooked harder and seemed to have more breading. Wish they could just have more sauce on the wings. Atmosphere here at the Montgomery location is wonderful with lots of open space. Our waitress Hailey did a great job explaining all of the offerings and she did a great job talking to us and making sure we had everything we needed. I would recommend this place for something different. Plenty of drink and...
