Visiting Davey's Irish Pub & Restaurant on September 14, 2025, felt like stepping into a neighborhood favorite that balances hearty pub comfort with a touch of creativity. Known for its casual, welcoming vibe, Davey's sets the stage with an atmosphere that leans friendly and unpretentious, perfect for a laid-back lunch.
The meal started with a chili appetizer topped with cheese and onions--a solid kickoff that carried a satisfying, homemade quality. The chili had just enough spice to warm the palate without overwhelming it, and the cheese and onions added both creaminess and bite. It's the kind of starter that feels familiar, comforting, and generous, perfectly suited for sharing or for setting up a hearty meal ahead.
For the mains, there was plenty of variety at the table. The standout was Sabrina's Other Chicken Club, a breaded cutlet topped with grilled pineapple, bacon, and a zesty sauce. This dish had a nice interplay of textures--the crisp breading against the juicy pineapple and smoky bacon--and the sweet-savory balance worked surprisingly well. The sauce pulled everything together, giving the sandwich character beyond the ordinary chicken club.
The Chicken Caesar Wrap provided a lighter but still satisfying option. Wrapped in a soft tortilla, the traditional Caesar salad flavors--grilled chicken, romaine, creamy dressing--were nicely balanced. While it wasn't as bold in flavor as the club, it delivered on freshness and familiarity, making it a reliable choice for anyone seeking something straightforward but well-executed.
Overall, the food quality at Davey's on this visit earned a strong 4 out of 5. Each dish was crafted with care, the flavors came through clearly, and the portion sizes leaned hearty without being overwhelming. Service was attentive enough to keep things smooth, and the ambiance, though casual, complemented the comfort-food vibe.
Davey's proves itself as more than just a pub--it's a spot where the menu combines pub staples with a dash of creativity, making it worth revisiting when you're in the mood for good...
Read moreGoogle says reservation require, but we came in around 9 on a Sunday night and sat immediately. Seth, our bartender was vivacious and down right funny. He made a point to remember our names, and engage us in fun conversation about music, hockey, & vodka. He was very helpful and kind. We hope to see you again Seth!!! My only issue was that I drank 4 Moscow Mules and hardly got a buzz(5'3 150lb female) also...instead of using ginger beer and lime.....they used club soda and a drop of Rose's sugaryass syrup....huge disappointment because this is my favorite substitute drink, since no one ever has black rum for dark & stormies. Our friend ordered the shepherds pie: it was very watery, not seasoned at all, and it was obvious the veggies were from cans and the potatoes were instant. Decent enough for bar food but I'm sure their burgers and fries don't disappoint; I saw several come out and they smelled heavenly. Definitely will be my new spot when I'm...
Read moreWas hoping for a good experience based on others reviews, but everything was disappointing. We sat outside and everything just seemed dirty and unkempt and unorganized. Tables and chairs are not nice, rickety, and uncomfortable. This was a Thursday 6:30pm, first week of October. Kinda embarrassed as we suggested this for a birthday celebration for people we were taking there. Food was heavy and greasy and mediocre. We ordered apps, mains, and dessert. Nothing stood out. Was hoping for some excellent fish and chips, but there was almost no fish inside all the breading and it seemed over fried. It seemed more like standard fast food fare. Portions are large though. Husband's beer was served in a glass but other drinks were served in disposable plastic cups, why? I know we were outside, but also saw some pretty brazen mice running on the brick wall with shrubbery right next to us. Imo not worth the money...
