Utterly Disappointed and Disgusted at Applebee's in Moore, Oklahoma. Avoid this location at all costs.
I have been to many Applebee's locations and and the next door restaurants from this location over the years, but my recent experience at the Applebees one in Moore, OK was by far the worst dining experience I've ever had.
I visited on 4/28/24 for dinner arriving at 6:10 pm. The conditions were shockingly unsanitary and the service was abysmally poor.
To start, the entire restaurant was filthy. The floors were with a lot of food and garbage, tables were grimy with old and with like food stuck to them, and the booths were ripped and stained. It looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned in months. The dining area had a foul odor permeating it. The inside physical state of the restaurant itself was also very poor. The booths were ancient with cracked vinyl, the tables were sticky and had visible scratches/damage, and the whole place had a rundown, neglected feel.
The service, if you can even call it that, was horrendously slow. It took over 30 mins just to get our order. Our server seemed to vanish for long stretches, and it took over an hour just to get our food served. The few times our server did show up, they were incredibly inattentive and couldn't seem to care less about our terrible experience.
There was clearly a major lack of management presence, as the understaffed servers looked frazzled and disorganized. No one appeared to be overseeing operations or maintaining any standards whatsoever.
In addition to the filthy conditions and terrible service, the quality of the food itself at this Applebee's location was extremely lacking. It tasted like most of the dishes were just frozen food items that had been stored in the freezer for far too long before being defrosted and cooked. The entrees all had an overly strong, almost stale frozen taste that was very off-putting. It was as if the food had been sitting in the freezer for months and lost all freshness. When you're paying decent prices for casual dining, you expect better than reheated frozen dinners. The chicken wings in particular were a huge disappointment. They were shriveled up and overcooked to the point of being dried out and tough. Clearly they were just tossed in the fryer and left to cook for way too long with no care. Properly cooked wings should be crispy yet juicy - these were inedible. For a chain restaurant like Applebee's, microwave-quality frozen foods and overcooked, dried out apps are just unacceptable. The frozen, stale taste and improper cooking showed an alarming lack of effort in the kitchen.
Between the poor food quality and the dismal dirty conditions, there's no reason to ever dine at this location again. Save your money and appetite for somewhere that has higher standards.
If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. It's a disgrace to the Applebee's brand and name to have such a disgusting, poorly run establishment. I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on after this abysmal experience.
Again, Avoid this location...
Read moreSo I want to say first that I work in food service so I'm probably being more picky than your average customer. Both my husband and I were really disappointed with everything. First , we sat down at a very wet table and had to ask our server for some napkins to dry it off with. Got our sodas, and my mtn dew tasted like just sparkling water, but i understand soda machines can be a real pain. We ordered the loaded waffle fries as our appetizer, and while the fries themselves were really good, we felt the portion wasn't much compared to the price, but hey, that's probably a corporate thing out of their control. The real disappointment came when we got our food. I got the crispy bacon ranch sandwich, and my husband got the Lotta bacon burger. My husband says his bacon burger was ok but pretty greasy and had some spicy sauce that we didn't recall originally being listed on the menu ( I will say we could be wrong with that! ). My sandwich with the chicken was just gross if I was completely honest. There was hardly any ranch on it, so I had to put what was leftover from our appetizer on it, but it still tasted off. I took it apart and just tried the chicken itself, which was just a basic patty you put in a fryer, and it tasted like it was cooked in old grease along with having that weird mouth feel to it, like the oil in their fryer hadn't been regularly changed. I couldn't bring myself to finish my sandwich. Our service wasn't great either. Our server (Tristan, i think his name was) checked in on us once and didn't even ask if we need our drinks refilled. We watched as he worked the tables both in front and behind us but almost avoiding ours. We had finished our app pretty quick, and the dirty plates from it were on our table just about the entire time we ate. It wasn't till we asked for a Togo box when we were done that he finally asked if we wanted our drinks refilled. He brought us a Togo box and our check. We tried paying on the website from the link on our check but couldn't get it to load/work. Our server wasn't anywhere to be seen, so we ended up having to go up to the front, and one of the other kind waitresses helped us get checked out. It wasn't even busy, actually pretty dead, tbh so there was no reason for that kind of service. Our total was 48$ and some change, and it definitely was not worth that much considering the food and the service. We definitely won't be returning, at least not to this specific restaurant as it seems poorly managed. I have NEVER written a review but was really bothered by our experience that I had to...
Read moreTonight my husband and I decided to grab dinner rather than cooking. I ordered Applebee’s through Door Dash but I ordered it as a pick up rather than delivery. We get to Applebee’s and I send my husband in to pick up the order because I was in sweats and flip flops. He’s in there forever and he walks out with no food. He said that they can’t find our order. Door dash says it’s ready to picked up and I check the bank and we have been charged for the food. So I go in to show them the order details and the charge. The manager, Jeff, comes out and says he has checked every order they’ve received in the last hour and our order is not there. I was frustrated, but he showed me how to file an issue with Door Dash so they can rectify the site. When I go to the Door Dash chat it says they are experiencing a high volume of customer issues and it will take 10 minutes before we can chat with someone. I told Jeff I was going to go back to my car while I waited and then we could go from there. While we’re waiting Jeff comes out to the car and asks if he can get the order we sent in because he knows we haven’t eaten and he wants to ensure we get what we ordered. Needless to say, we were impressed!! I notify Door Dash chat that Applebee’s never received our order and sent a picture of the charge from the bank. Immediately they said they canceled the order and we would be receiving a full refund and apologized for the inconvenience. So I grab my billfold and go inside to pay for our food. Jeff comes back up and said he already closed out our order. I was a little confused and said okay, but we needed to pay for our meal. Jeff smiled and said it wasn’t our fault that Door Dash had a glitch and he was happy that we were still getting what we ordered. He comped our entire meal!!!! He said pay it forward and come back again and next time there would be no confusion!! We got home and the food was hot and delicious! My husband couldn’t stop raving about his burger and my Alfredo was great!!! All of that to say Jeff went above and beyond tonight!! He gave excellent customer service and immediately began making the situation right!! My husband said we have a new favorite and he wouldn’t mind eating it again tomorrow 😂. If you are in the Moore area, stop by Applebee’s and have a great meal and know as long as Jeff is on the job you will be treated with top notch service!!! And if Jeff happens to see this, I hope they give you a raise because you...
