Usually this store is perfect. Not today. š„Trying to exchange 3 pair of jeans and 1 pair leggings for wife. The service counter associate was stellar as usual. Only 2 jeans show on the paper receipt but did show up in the computer register. The associate actually took a picture of the computer readout regarding the purchase because the sale would disappear on other follow up screens. Not a problem at all. Just needed an exchange anyway. When she couldn't figure it out she called a manager. That manager had exactly the same results. The jeans wouldn't come up on follow up screens to process the exchange. So that assistant manager had the store manager come take a look. Thats when the experience turned unpleasant and awful. She wasn't anywhere close to professional and tried to have an argument with my wife. I very literally had to shush them both. Which made the manager angry. Without actually saying it, she accused us of stealing the jeans and it seemed she wanted to keep them behind the counter on a shelf behind her. I told her she could watch the tape to verify I carried them into the store and would be walking out the store with my jeans I had carried in. They dont fit me but a local charity is always looking for nice clothes. This has never happened to me anywhere. Obviously JC Penny's needs the $80.00 more than I do. Everyone was so kind and helpful except for that store manager. Everyone could see the transaction until she began working the register. It disappeared when the manager began working the register. The first associate had taken a photo of it and showed it to the manager. Ive never been made to feel this way. She alone turned decades of 5 star ratings into ZERO's. I will drive much farther next time I need clothes or leave JCPENNEY...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJCPenney is the king of bait and switch. I have NEVER shopped here where things rang up correctly. And most of the time, like today, they won't honor the posted sales. There were signs all over the suit area that said sale, suits regularly price X on sale for price Y. Specifically, there was one of these signs, with the suit brand name, on the rack of suits I was shopping for. The sign said items regularly marked $110 on sale for $64.99 and items regularly marked $210 on sale for $125. I picked up a pair of slacks marked $110 and a suit jacket for $210. This, according to the signs, should have meant $189 total. It rang up for $347. I told the check out lady and she said she knows and will fix it. Then came back and said a customer must have moved the sign, it was only for the rack next to that one. The suits were identical on each, and the same brand, and the same regular price. But one rack had my size and the other did not. They refused to honor the price and told me I could use a coupon instead that would have taken the price to $250. If this were the only time this had happened, I'd be more understanding, but it has been the last 15ish times I've been in there. I just needed a suit for my grandmother's funeral that I could afford, but that bait and switch extra $158 is downright criminal. Just mark things what they cost, JCP and stop this complex sale system you arbitrarily choose...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI made a hair appointment online and I included a note to add extra time for my perm. When I came to my appointment on 3/1/24 at 2 pm, my stylist named Tee, rolled my hair that took over an hour. She put first treatment then rinsed. She towel dried, put neutralizer in my hair and LEFT! You are only supposed to leave neutralizer in for 5 minutes. I was waiting for 15-20 minutes. My forehead was starting to burn from being irritated by hair chemicals because the cotton around my head was not changed after the first treatment. Finally, another stylist came and took my rollers off which took another 15 minutes. After she took off all my rollers, she leaves. In walks in, my stylist Tee, and she rinses my hair. Tee put lots of mousse to bring back the curls that the neutralizer took out for leaving on too long. When I got home, my forehead had a 4-5 inch long burnt scar and my head was irritated all this time. On Monday, 3/4/24 about 2 pm, I called and spoke with Amy, the manager of the salon. I told her what happened. She said she would get back to me because she needed to talk to the store manager. Itās Tuesday, 3/5/24 6:35 pm and I havenāt heard anything back from her and I donāt think I will. Go...
