Carollo's has been one of my favorite places for take-out for years now. I love everything from their bacon cheesesteak to the turkey wrap to the amazing chicken pastina (always good but a great choice if you're not feeling well).
Last night, I finally had the opportunity to dine in at Carollo's for my mother's birthday. From the moment we walked in, it was an all around amazing experience. We were welcomed with open arms by everyone and immediately seated. The atmosphere was lovely, as the restaurant is beautifully designed and decorated and has a cozy vibe. We were very lucky to have Amanda as our waitress, as she is both fantastic at her job and a genuinely warm, kind-hearted person. As much as I have always enjoyed their takeout, eating in was even better. Carollo's pays attention to every detail, down to having the absolute best garlic knots to start your meal. I also had my favorite chicken pastina, and my entrée was incredible. I had the tortellini alla pana, which is an alfredo sauce with peas and pancetta. I highly recommend this dish to anyone who loves pasta. Head chef Alex and the rest of the kitchen staff truly outdid themselves with every meal our party ordered.
To top off the night, the staff sang "Happy Birthday" to my mom and brought her an amazing dessert. The rest of us couldn't decide on which desserts we wanted (everything looked enticing), and I ended up having the chance to try both of my top choices. Both the peanut butter explosion and the dark side of the moon cake were beyond exquisite. I couldn't possibly rate one as better than the other.
The entire evening was wonderful, and I want to thank everyone at Carollo's for their hospitality, incredible food, and perfect atmosphere for a birthday dinner. I will...
Read moreI made a reservation a few weeks ago for 5 people. When I arrived at the restaurant, one of the people in my party was made to sit in the aisle. They tried to ask if they could be moved but were told they couldn’t. I told the wait staff that it was a fire hazard to have someone sitting in the aisle. (Which they should know and if the fire marshall came in they could’ve been fined.) So they moved us to another table.
We placed our orders; one of the members of my party was very specific and asked for there to be no peppers/any kind of pepper seasoning on her food because she is allergic; the dish was salmon with potatoes and asparagus. Another member of my party requested penne as their pasta option. When the food came out, the one that had requested no peppers received pepper/pepper seasoning on her food and the one that had requested penne received spaghetti and the chicken was overcooked. Another member of my party received cold, uncooked crab on his risotto that also came with lobster tail.
The server took back the food with peppers and the cold crab dish. The lobster tail and crab risotto dish was returned and the lobster was too tough to eat. The salmon dish was returned with only salmon and broccoli, not the potatoes and asparagus that she had wanted with her meal. At this point, we did not want to complain anymore and just wanted to hurry up and get out of there. We were not offered any type of compensation and paid $200 for a meal where 3/5 of the people were not satisfied. The only reason for 2 stars instead of 1 is because the garlic bread and penne vodka...
Read moreThis review is long overdue,. We usually patronize Passierellos in moorestown for our pizza. But once in a while, I like to use other local businesses and support them. This is the last time I will be ordering a pizza from Corollos . this is not the first time that this has happened. You order a pizza in good faith and expect to get nice hot fresh pizza. And what they give you is a re-baked, meaning, half baked pizza that they have probably had under the counter and then bake again ( char) heated up and given to you. look at the pictures of the crust. I decided to take pictures and post a negative review, after we tried to eat the top off of the pizza. And threw away the other slices in the garbage. The bottom wasn’t burnt. It was overcooked or double cooked and extremely chewy. You couldn’t even get your teeth through it. I didn’t bother to call them because we had a busy schedule and no time to go back for a replacement. I’d rather just post this review and steer you clear of ordering a pizza from them and supporting them. They suck. My family and I remembered after we started to eat it. This is actually happened to us before this place we order from them so seldomly that I forgot. if you ever attend moorestown day and they have their employees outside making hot fresh pizza to sell by the slice it is absolutely delicious! Best pizza ever! But yet when you call and order a pizza pizza this is the garbage that they give you. Do yourself a favor if you’re in the area and you want pizza, go to Passierellos ! there’s a reason that they are so much busier than...
