I had a wonderful experience visiting Redâs Scratch Bakery on Saturday, August 2, 2025. I came in craving cookies and although I also wanted to try their ice cream, I decided to save that for another visit.
I sampled several of their cookies and treats, including: ⢠Chocolate Chip ⢠Oatmeal Raisin ⢠Frosted Sugar Cookie ⢠Snickerdoodle ⢠And a chocolate brownie topped with peanut butter and fudge
The chocolate in the cookies was incredibly rich, and each item I tried was enormous and clearly made from scratch. You can taste the quality and care in every biteâeach cookie was absolutely delicious.
Redâs doesnât just stop at cookiesâthey also offer brownies, ice cream, and coffee. On the left side of the store, thereâs a cozy barista station with oat milk and likely other milk alternatives. I wanted to grab a photo, but the shop started getting crowded.
Heads up: This venue can get crowded fast, especially on weekends. I went around 12:50 p.m. and it wasnât too bad at first, but a line started forming shortly after. Iâve heard that 2 p.m. is their peak time on weekends. The lobby area is pretty small, so be mindful of when you go if you want to beat the rush.
Also note: Many of the cookie flavors featured on their Instagram are pre-order only. If youâre looking for something specific, itâs best to order ahead online or be prepared to wait and return later if theyâre baking fresh batches.
This bakery is also great for cateringâperfect for events like baby showers, birthdays, bridal showers, or other special occasions.
All in all, Redâs Scratch Bakery is a gem in Mooresville, and Iâll definitely be back to try their ice cream, more cookie flavors, and...
Read moreAs an expert Cookie Monster, I feel confident in saying that Redâs makes the absolute best cookies ever. I have never met a Redâs cookie that I didnât like. (Even flavors that would normally not be my jam.) I find myself at Redâs multiple times a week and I gift cookies to anyone I possibly can because I love to spRED the love! EVERYONE always falls in love with Redâs. The cookies are thick, the right texture of soft and crunchy, the right balance of... well, everything. Flavors are on point, fillings are amazing (yes Iâm talking about you, homemade lemon curd and caramel) and Redâs makes the best vanilla and fudge frosting ever. Sometimes there will be brownies on the menu and if you happen to be lucky enough to make it in before they are all snatched up, youâll experience the moistest, fudgy-est brownies ever made. You can feel the excitement and terror in the air when you walk in on those days and everyone in line is worried that the person in front of them will order the last one (or 20) brownies. Just one more comment â if you havenât yet been to Redâs, you know youâre at the right place when you pull into the parking lot and see two things â (1) people jumping out of their cars and running to the door on days when there are cookie flavors that tend to sell out fast and (2) at least two to three cars that didnât make it out of the parking lot before consuming; white box popped open and...
Read moreI don't remember how I stumbled upon this place on Instagram, but once I did, I knew I had to go. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately for my health), they're all the way in Mooresville which is no where near where I live. We were driving back from Ohio, so it was the perfect chance to stop by without it being too far out of the way.
Covid-19: I was able to call ahead and order/pay over the phone. They emailed me an invoice and set aside my cookies for me. They were ready waiting for me when I got there. They were wearing masks and no one else was inside when I was there.
Let's talk about these cookies. We went all out and got 4 different cookies: white chocolate sprinkles, snickerdoodle, Caribbean coconut, and brown butter peach.
These are the best cookies in the Charlotte area in my opinion. They're also the best kept secret (only 3 Yelp reviews?!). The brown butter peach was definitely my favorite. It was one of their XL cookies with very rich frosting and filled with peach preserves. The snickerdoodle was my second favorite. They put cinnamon and white chocolate chips in it and I've never had one that good before. The other two cookies were also very good.
The cookies were moist and full of flavor. They rotate the flavors all the time, so check out their Instagram or show up and get whatever they have that day.
Do yourself a favor and drive to Mooresville just to try these cookies....
