After going to Dave's Southside after golf for a few years, news of the closure of Dave's was quiet the blow from our regular routine. It was not so much that it was the best bar in town, but the prices were pretty great (well, on the hot dogs) and the location was great. This past Saturday, after a fairly successful round, we decided to hit the new "Legends" in the place of our old stomping grounds. The first thing we noticed was the rich smell of sealed wood tables. The place was buzzing and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. We bellied up, as we always do, and were greeted by a nice bartender. They had my favorite IPA on tap (Bell's Two Hearted), which as of lately, has been dormant from many recent bars I have visited. We took a look at the menu. One word - Simple. It is a single page, no non-sense mix of classic bar food and well thought out one of a kind mixes. There were several options for potatoes when getting a sandwich or burger at no additional charge, which was refreshing. I went with the Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Tots. I elected to get ranch. My only gripe on this is that I was asked if I wanted ranch, but not if I wanted to "add" ranch. I know its become more of an industry practice to charge additional for ranch, but I didn't know until the end. With that being said, I probably said, "Oh my gosh....this is so good!!" after nearly every bite of my food. The price is about on par with most bars/restaurants in the area. There are no $5 hot dogs anymore, but after the sandwich I just had, I don't think I will be missing that anytime soon. The presentation was also not your basket and thrown together approach, but reminded me more of a Granite City entree. We were having a great time and both enjoyed our food and drink and were able to meet a few people from the staff and were greeted with a smile and we felt very taken care of. We even elected to have some of the chips that they make fresh in the back. With the house seasoning and ranch - SO good. The Twins were winning. Golf was great. Friend and I had a great time out at a brand new place. It's literally in the same place that we have been for years, but it was different this time. It felt like we had been a part of this place and this crew the whole time. I look forward to spending nearly every golf outing at this place, hopefully after another great round. You could tell they really do care and I hope they have continued success. I know they will be...
Read moreWe just ordered curbside to go from Legends for the first time and will definitely be ordering again! I called in our order when I was filling up at Costco and it was ready by the time we drove over there. The staff person who answered and took our order was extremely friendly. Our order was delivered right to our vehicle within 5 minutes of parking. The waitress who brought out our food was very friendly and bubbly - this place has excellent customer service. I ordered the BELT sandwich (BLT with a fried egg) and shoestring fries and they were excellent. One of the best BLTs I've had in a long time and that's saying something because BLTs are my favorite! The bread was toasted but still soft and the bacon wasn't overly crispy. Couldn't ask for better! Fries were fresh and delicious. Very generous portions. For my 4-year-old, I ordered the grilled cheese with spiral cut spuds (basically their homemade version of kettle chips) and while the grilled cheese was fine (nothing spectacular but my kid ate it without complains so that's a win in my book) their house made chips are PHENOMENAL. I am not a chip person but I will for sure be ordering these when we go back! Also highly recommend their seasoned sour cream. That complimented everything perfectly. Can't wait to try more on their menu! Thank you to everyone at Legends who made our take out dinner an...
Read moreUp front just going to say your queso is garbage, chips were fine, that's all I can say about the food as that was all I had. Service was just fine, no complaints.
Your shuttle service for concerts on the way there is fine. On the way back I would descibe it as nothing short of a hellride. When the shuttle finally showed up after the concert we packed in like sardines. Once we were moving everyone who didn't have a seat was being thrown around and we were literally holding our hands against the ceiling to try not to fall over. I was apologizing to the woman in front of me for repeatedly bumping into her (she also had her hands on the ceiling) but she told me it was ok. There were literally women screaming at a couple of points. When I tried to lean between two people, not touching them, just to brace myself against the wall and not fall over I discovered we had a Karen on board. Going on and on getting more upset that I was "invading her space". There were 50 people on a party bus and ZERO handrails for people who were standing.
Do not under any circumstance use this bar's...
