Disappointing Experience - Failure to Follow Instructions I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience. My husband specifically instructed the staff to prepare my meal without any spicy ingredients, including the sauce in the disposable plastic container, due to my irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Unfortunately, the kitchen completely disregarded these instructions.

When I received my food, it was spicy, and even the rice was inedible. This was not only a matter of personal preference but a serious health concern. I was unable to eat the food, which was frustrating and disappointing.

The lack of attention to detail and failure to follow simple instructions is unacceptable. I hope the restaurant takes steps to improve their communication and kitchen procedures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

I don’t know why it is that every time I order the Atteke The pepper sauce is They put the hottest pepper from every continent on the earth in the sauce. It’s so bad. I literally put the oil of the sauce on my food and couldn’t even think straight because The pepper was so much. It taste like they made it for their husband‘s mistress. That’s how spicy it is. The fish was also soapy, and the portion sizes are strange. If the sauce wasn’t as spicy and bitter, it would taste great but The ratio of sauce to Atteke would need to be fixed. I have been on the hunt for a GOOD West African Restaurant in the Fargo/Moorehead area for some time now I feel I finally found it in Five Star African!!! My go-to dishes are the cassava leaves which are always fresh & flavorful with lots of super tender meat and the jollof rice-a stable tomato base African side dish that they always cook to perfection. My mouth is literally watering while writing this review, lol. Also, the restaurant is clean, beautifully decorated and staff is always friendly so lots of bonus points there for service.
