As an alumni nurse of Rasmussen University, I am thrilled to share my positive experience and the significant evolution the institution has undergone, especially under the leadership of Dean Alvarez. Rasmussen University provided me with a solid foundation in nursing that has greatly contributed to my professional success. I started looking for nursing schools in the fall of 2018. While most of them required a lot of criteria that would not have distilled my ability to success Rasmussen College didn't. Rasmussen was still over two hours away. I figured I'd go and talk to an admissions counselor and while talking to him, he never once discouraged me. Instead, he stated "It won't be easy but it's not impossible." That's all I needed to hear! He gave a me glimpse of hope. From October 2018 until June of 2020, I enjoyed traveling to campus, listening to lecture on the way and back home, flexibility, ease of communication with instructors and advisors, and gained tons of knowledge! I got both my LPN and RN through Rasmussen College!! I’ve grown to know my advisors, instructors, and dean throughout the last few years of being part of the Rasmussen community. Previous instructors have become friends, co-workers, and people that I can genuinely go to when I am having a day. I love that my dean knows who I am and knows me on a first name basis. I love that my advisor can tell when I am not myself, or know exactly when to check in on me. Lastly, I love that most of my instructors encourage me to never stop and they truly want me to succeed.
