Microtel Inn & Suites By Wyndham Moorhead Fargo Area — Hotel in Moorhead

My boyfriend and I were supposed to stay at this hotel all weekend but after all the issues we decided to find a better hotel and price. For starters we waited over an hour before the lady came to the desk to help us. The lobby was filthy and had no beverages made , coffee & water were both empty. They did have a little store (way overpriced) but again we had to wait an hour for help to buy anything anyway. Then we had to listen about how horrible things are for them at the hotel as that was the excuse the lady used for where she was and why we couldn’t check it on time. There wasn’t enough clean towels so our room had one set and we were told to ask for more later if we need any! The room was ok though, the tv wouldn’t work so the front desk lady came up to fix it which was nice but then she sat and complained for about 20 mins about her job! She told us about the drug problems that go on there and that was enough for us! We weren’t about to stay all weekend when we are here to shop and not know if the housekeepers are coming in our room when we leave and steal our stuff, from the sounds of it it was a better chance of that happening then not, she suggested we keep all our things in our vehicle but that was just unacceptable to us! So long story short… WAAAAAY OVERPRICED, WAAAAY UNDERSTAFFED, n the ones they do have are druggies and steal and the sisters who run the place will only help you if they feel like it, and most of the time they don’t feel like it! I’m surprised microtel allows them to use there name still I wonder if corporate knows how they conduct themselves, maybe someone should tip them off so they will bring there standards WAY up?! Who knows , this is the one and only time I will waste...

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times in the past 4-5 years and I can honestly say it has gone downhill to the point where we won't be going back. We stayed one night the end of October 2022. Our room was clean, but the springs in one of the beds creaked loudly when sitting or rolling over in bed. Breakfast was ok but nothing to brag about. We stayed 2 nights in mid November 2022. Again, the rooms were clean and the beds this time were fairly comfortable, but one had a nasty stain on the side that was clearly visible. First complaint was that breakfast was horrible. Dried out biscuits with tasteless gravy was the highlight one of the days. No juice, no yogurt, no rolls or muffins. Fruit consisted of apples and shriveled oranges. Second complaint was the fridge that froze our food and pop since the knob was broken and we couldn't turn the temp warmer. Our biggest complaint was NO HOT WATER until the second day of our stay. When I checked out after our second night, I asked for some sort of compensation for not having hot water for half of our stay. The girl behind the counter said that management was considering giving discount to "those that complained" and they were to email us a new invoice if they made a discission. It's been 2 days and no new invoice, so I would assume they made a discission in their favor. What really bothered me was when I walked away, she actually made a snickering/laughing sound. Definitely will find some other place to stay...

Our group had 5 rooms. In one of our rooms there was an infestation of bed bugs. When we told the front desk about this problem they did not believe us even after showing pictures and bite marks. The front desk claimed the cleaning people "checked and did not see any". Therefore, they said they will not be doing an extermination of bed bugs or clean what needs to be clean. In another room there was blood on the bed and wall which was not cleaned. They also did not comp us for our stay. Lastly, the pillows were extremely uncomfortable. They are small and hard. Overall, the stay was one of the worst experiences we have had. On the bright side, Destiny was helpful to get us out of the rooms. The breakfast was also good, but a little cold.

To respond: We checked out early and did explain why right when it happened. I tried to upload photos on here, but it would not allow me to. We also did contact you after the case over email and on the phone and your representatives were extremely rude. None of us had bed bugs at home and only our one guest found the bites and the bed bugs in the bed. Bed bugs only turn red after they bite you. Therefore, after a long day the bugs would have been clear. We were told guests have been staying in that room after without you taking the precautions to clean the rooms.
