This used to be a good review, but unfortunately today I had the displeasure of seeing the salon's true colors. I know that if a hairstylist in general is not a person of color, they most likely do not know how to cut thick hair. I understand this and I never complained. Euodia is a fully white salon. The hairstylist I've had so far, Whitney, has always been gracious and did her best with my hair. Today tho, I went with another stylist, Crystal. The moment I sat in the chair she gave me extreme attitude. This made me feel nervous but I tried to respond to her questions as best as I could. She told me that the haircut I wanted (short with layers) was not possible because my hair is too thick and that I should have found better reference pictures. She demanded that I choose one picture that best resembled what I wanted so I did. She scoffed and said that my hair will never look like that. So i asked if someone else knew how to cut it and she said that she's the only one here who can do short hair, but only basic cuts, and apparently the cut i wanted is "too trendy" and i was asking for a $100 haircut (???). She was practically laughing at me for even thinking that I could have such a simple haircut and I felt so humiliated in that stupid chair. I told her i wanted to cancel the appointment and she actually had the audacity look surprised and she gave me attitude for it. For the first time ever I practically ran out of that salon crying. I already hate getting haircuts because I know most white hairstylists (which make up like 99% of the salons around here) can't cut it well so I feel like the extra work is ruining their day, but they at least try to act like it doesn't. Just some mild complaints here and there. Crystal, on the other hand, said the quiet part out loud. I hate to say this, but there were clear undertones of racism and I was shocked looking at other yelp reviews that this was not the first time that this type of discrimination has happened here. DO NOT go here if you don't have THIN hair and/or are not white passing. It makes me feel so incredibly upset to write this review because I haven't really had a negative experience, until today. I'm always flexible with my hair and I always take other options if the cut i want is not within the stylists skill set. I wish Crystal could have been more reasonable with me and just told me honestly that she couldn't cut it because she doesn't have the skill to, and to give me other options. Instead she made me feel like it was MY fault for having thick hair. Honestly, if she had just been kind and proffessional then this wouldn't be an issue. Again, the horrible attitude began the moment I sat in the chair, before i even told her which cut i wanted. So I know it wasn't just my hair that made her angry. I wish Euodia had more integrity and stopped hiring such racist and unprofessional people. I will not be going back due to this...
Read moreVery unprofessional team! I booked 15 min consultation with Megan on weekend. I spend time , get there and spoke with her. She checked my hair and I showed the color and style that I wanted. She gave me some recommendations and I took them all! I am easygoing… she gave me the price and said I can check with the front desk to schedule the day… girls at the front desk gave me some options and I asked them to give me a day to check working schedule and finalize the day with them…after I left the salon, I received a text message that Megan says she is not available those days! I called and got different days to check with my working schedule…Monday afternoon after I was already trying to make one of the days work but moving some of my appointments with my clients, someone calls me and say, Megan thinks she can’t do your hair in the way that you like ! You’re more than welcome to do couple of treatments sections with her and then color your hair. The whole conversation with her that introduced herself as a manager called Nicole; was a totally waste of time! I am like why she didn’t say all this in our consultation session? Don’t you guys think people’s time is valuable at all? And once I am trying to explain that I don’t want to bleach my hair and I want to make it darker, she is like then it would be different price! Megan is something else! Changing her mind every 10 min. And once I asked for someone else, she is like, you need to sign a form that says if your hair gets damaged it is not our responsibility ! Like wow!!!! No customer service exists in this hair salon! They could have this conversation with me in person once I was taking my time and having my consultation session! I am not going to pass by that place again ! I think the only reason they are overbooked is that people in Moorpark try to support local businesses! I live in Moorpark but i value myself and my time more than supporting a...
Read moreVery disappointed in the way Euodia handled our situation this morning!!! My Mom and I both had received $150 gift certificates for a "Mini Daycation" 2hr spa package for our birthday from my husband. I called Euodia in 9/17 and made an appt for today Mon, 9/23 @ 11:30am as I will be moving out of state the end of the month. I was told that the esthetician is not in on Mondays so we could extend our massage to make up for it. My Mom and I were fine with that and booked the appointment. So we arrive before the appointment to check in and the lady tells us that we are not in their system for today and after checking further we weren't in their system at all!!! She did apologize however, she said their was nothing she could do and we would have to reschedule. I advised her I'm moving and would rather have a refund. She advised she couldn't and asked when I had called. I gave her the exact day and time of my phone call. She wrote it down and offered nothing to my Mom and I to make up for the mistake. Didn't even write our names and numbers down to even try to rectify their mistake. If this is how they treat customers who walk in with $300 worth of gift cards they already received payment for then I shall never return. The ladies actions this morning were no better than the ladies mistake in processing our appointment in 9/17. Customer service training is desperately...
