Normally we love this place. We're a family of 9 and every time we eat out we spend a lot of money. I don't expect special treatment for this but I'm spending more than a dime once or twice a week. This is the second time we've gone at night and this is the second time we've had a bad experience. The first evening we went they closed their dining room doors 30 minutes earlier then they were supposed to. This time we were there at 8:10 pm, we ordered our meals to eat in the dining room and they gave it to us in bags to go. The young cashier with all the gold jewelry that took out order brought us our meals and apologized for thier confusion, I could tell they just didn't want to dirty dishes they'd have to clean later but I took it because up till then they were friendly. They stopped being friendly when we asked them to remake our two salads because they put bacon bits in them, we can not eat pork and we made it very clear to them at the beginning. Then when my daughter asked them for ranch dressing for our salads the lady seemed annoyed and told her they were 50 cents extra for each extra ranch. The problem is we never got dressing for the salads we had already paid for, I was missing the tortillas for my menudo and we were ripped off on the amount of fries we got for the burger combos, the little bags they came in were 3 quarters full. We have options when we go out to eat, the only way I'll return is if we go earlier in the day, the morning crew is on top of their stuff. I don't think they have any leadership in the evenings. In n out burger is similar price and much higher quality. We only go there because if their variety. The manager or owner that I've seen in the morning needs to go check out the mess going on at night. Those guys are giving this business a bad name. In the time we were there we noticed they messed up quite a few orders and my suspicions were proven true about the dishes because I noticed they only served food in the dark trays with a red and white checkered paper over it, which tells me they don't wash those dark trays, which is unsanitary. To be clear, the food here is good, but the night crew need to be supervised. I guarantee they have unsanitary practices, this didn't just happen tonight, this seemed to be habitual by their demeanor. I might not have written this review if they hadn't been so rude, especially the women that was serving up the food. She was upset because we ordered our food to eat in but she said the guy at the register told her we changed our mind and wanted it to go. That's what began here rude...
Read moreOk honest review. I always get breakfast with eggs. Eggs are always a good way of determining if they can cook. So the eggs where slightly burnt meaning crispy and cooked together as 1 piece Which is wrong and lazy. My wife order a cheese burger combo with fries. Her order showed up to the table first and was already luke warm she had enough time to take four bites before my order of biscuits and gravy with over medium eggs and bacon made it to the table via every other table before the waitress found me. The bacon is cooked in a giant group and sets awaiting your order so it’s tuff-end up by its brothers as they fight to be served. The biscuits are soft enough for the plastic fork and dirty knife to be eaten with but the gravy is full of grease which is never good for the stomach. Now for the Hamburger that everyone is supposed to be coming here for. It’s possible made there it doesn’t look like it’s frozen but is Bland! So no flavor and minced which hides the quality of the ground beef that has way to much gristle and fat prices in it so they are making a killing on the cost per patty. Honestly it’s doing to good for the food they offer it’s another Gus’s Juniors nock off if that helps any. $29.60 with a nasty cup of coffee and a do it yourself refill...
Read moreCharmer's is a decent establishment. The restaurant is clean and inviting. There is always seating and ample parking.
As you approach the counter, you are bombarded by 5 screens of menus. It is a lot to take in and can be a bit overwhelming. They offer breakfast lunch and dinner all day. It's is very similar to Farmer Boys. It wasn't until after we paid for our meal that we noticed a tiny sign on the counter that said "We charge a 4% fee to use a credit card. Cash is appreciated."
Service to the table was slower than most. For 4 burgers, it took about 10-15 minutes. Our order was complete and accurate. If you do order anything custom, for example just beef patties or chicken patties it does take a bit longer.
When the food arrived, it was hot and fresh. Accept the burger patties. They, unfortunately are frozen. Yep, you would expect a restaurant with the name burgers to serve up fresh beef but unfortunately they do not. With that said, the burgers were cooked to order but lacked seasoning.
Overall, my rating is a 3 ⭐⭐⭐ all around. Primarily for 1) slow serving, 2) frozen beef patties, 3) charging you a 4% fee to use a...
