At 8:20 they started stacking the chairs but they close at 9. I got here at 7:50p so it's fine just awkward to watching them put chairs up while I'm eating. Makes me feel like they're passive aggressively saying "leave"
I wanna preface this by saying I wanted to go to kickin crab but I didn't realize they closed at 8. So I went here instead.
Flavorless. If you think salt is a decent seasoning then come here. This place claims their house sauce is Cajun, garlic, etc. It is Cajun seasoning garlic and oil. Nothing special. Incredibly disappointing.
I believe the weight was a bit shy but I don't have a scale so like 🤷
Also the tea was stale. It is end of night I let that go too but wanted to mention I imagine during the day it is the same since this was really filmy and stale. I didn't have to taste it to know. Didn't even bother with a refill.
The kicker was! When we ate we needed crab clay crackers and they had none. That is a regular utensil of ANY crab shack. How ridiculous!
The final straw that broke me was the bathroom. They blocked it with chairs. So when I finished eating and I was ready to use the restroom to wash my hands I couldn't because chair was partially blocking the door. If I moved that chair I wasn't super sure if I was supposed to or if the chairs would fall if i tried.
I'm never coming back. What a waste of time and money. I'm not sure if I feel bad for the wait staff or not. They were pretty emotionless which is fine I don't expect performance. But asking if we need refills would've been nice.
Go to kickin crab. Same price just about, better service, better ambience, access to bathrooms, and much better flavor.
Any person who enjoys this place likely doesn't have burnt out taste...
Read moreI ordered 2 lb of king crab legs and one of their $32.99 specials. then my goddaughter ordered the 32.99 special with the King crab. (We were not asked if the orders were together since my goddaughter ordered half an hour after us.)They bought us one pair of scissors and a small basket. There were no food trays to put the food or shells in, there were flies everywhere, and no utensils at all. We kept asking for things because we didn't get it. They gave us one pair of scissors for two people eating crab. They were very slow on service and did not come back for a while to check up on us, but we did get refills on drinks. We were the only ones in there for a while.. My goddaughter did not get everything in her bag and it was missing the sausage. The waitress assumed she didn't want it because my sister and I did not want it. But when you take a order you're supposed to ask the person what they need regardless of who they are with. The muscles and the shrimp were overcooked and very rubbery. We asked for bags to take food and we ended up getting them ourselves. I would not recommend this place. Once home I was...
Read moreBeing from Shreveport, Louisiana, my taste buds for seafood and gumbo are pretty well-tuned, and in general, the bar is rather high for most places. Especially in California, there are a lot of places that just miss and I'm happy to report that Shrimp Factory is NOT a place that misses, quite the opposite, in fact.
The price for this feast was under $30, and I am in complete disbelief because of the high quality. A lb of shrimp, gumbo with rice, some red potatoes, and some mozzarella cheese sticks? Piping hot, full of flavor - I got spicy for my heat (because, well, anything in California is just not THAT hot), and it was delicious! The shrimp is well-cooked, the potatoes were soft, and I had a great bite of the Gumbo (just WOW). I ended up having to switch my original order of cheesecake and ended up getting the cheese sticks instead, but they were super chill about the difference in price. Great service, and super courteous (but I still want my cheesecake, so next time).
Absolutely recommend these folks for people that are looking for a great seafood and gumbo experience in the area. You will not be...
