WTFalafel is a new establishment serving Lebanese and Mediterranean dishes. The restaurant is located in a plaza north of the 60 Freeway on Pigeon Pass, across from the Home Depot and In N Out. It’s in the same plaza as Farmer Boy’s and Circle K.
They have a variety of dishes to offer but we wanted to taste a little bit of everything. We ordered: Tour of Beirut Combo Plate (Beef, Chicken & Kafta) - This is a great trio of proteins that came with fluffy rice, a side of salad, hummus, toom (garlic sauce), pita bread, and a grilled chili pepper. Everything was delicious but I particularly liked the beef than the chicken and kafta. By the way, the chili was spicy for my palate. It tasted good but the heat was intense. I’d say this is good for sharing because we took half of this dish home. Beef Shawarma - More flavorful than the chicken shawarma but still good. Chicken Shawarma - This is a great basic dish to try if you haven’t had Mediterranean food before. The flavors are milder for beginner palates. Falafel - They really make a great falafel here. It’s not dry like other places and it’s great with a side of tahini sauce.
The restaurant had plenty of seating including a mini bar. This would be a great place for group/work lunches or dinners.
The service was great. Very attentive and knowledgeable staff sharing their recommendations.
Overall, delicious food in a sketch location - a hidden gem! The service would make me want to come back here. Such...
Read moreCustomer service was ehh, I didn't like how the cashier was speaking to me, more yelling and demanding than polite and patient. The food was bland, I had the WTF FALAFEL and it wasn't that good. There wasn't any sauce on it and there was no flavor, even the falafel was bland. I love falafel and have traveled to Mediterranean countries and tried the authentic thing, as well as all across the US and have tried various Falafel restaurants, like I said I love it, and it's quick and easy to eat. This was so far from it. I've also been vegetarian for over 15 years so when you advertise that you have vegan and vegetarian options please make sure there's actually a good amount, this location just had a few options and they weren't even affordable or actual meals just 2 sides which amounted to over $15 charged. That isn't vegetarian friendly. I've been to many Falafel restaurants all around the US and the world, so I know what it should taste like, the texture, the ingredients, etc. This was sloppy thrown together. Vegetarians beware not...
Read moreMy first visit here was a delightful surprise! 🤩The ingredients were incredibly fresh. I ordered the Lamb Kabab Plate and the Tour of Beirut Combo. The chicken, lamb and ground beef were all grilled to perfection😍tender and juicy. In comparison, the steak was slightly tougher. The side salad (lettuce, tomatowas and onion) also very fresh, and while waiting for my order, I could smell the aroma of grilled meat and fresh tomatoes wafting from the kitchen! I’ve tried kababs from many places, and this one is definitely among the best. The pistachio dessert made with olive oil was also delicious—loaded with pistachios, it became more fragrant with every bite. Even my husband, who usually doesn’t like desserts, enjoyed it! Since it was just a takeout trial this time, I didn’t take any photos, but the restaurant is very close to my home, so I’ll definitely be visiting often. I’ll share photos next time! So happy with the experience! Oh, and the owner was very warm and friendly, and the service...
