Hanami Sushi — Restaurant in Morgan Hill

My daughter took us there because they have the best Japanese food in town The one thing I noticed is that even the lowly California rolls are made fresh in house and they taste dramatically better than any I have had recently. I gave a 5 star review to the other Japanese restaurant which is very busy by comparison and the food is good, but it is better here. Here the location is hard to find although it is on Dunn behind the Taco Bell so it has at most 4 of the 12 or so tables filled when we have visited. The dining room is very large which is ideal for the spacing necessary in the covid Era. They also have the ability to accommodate larger groups. We came in for a late dinner at 8 pm, they close at 9pm. On arrival they were pretty busy for a Sunday evening. It was a hustling place with two young new employees really hustling to get everyone served and the place set up for tomorrow. By the time we were done at 9pm we were the last customers. Even with the late hour everything was excellent and only one of the items we ordered for a party of 7 was not available. We came in hungry and left very full with leftovers for less than $25 each. I tried the Spicy Josh because it was highly recommended in a previous Yelp review by Lex. I also tried the Crazy roll and the Green Beast roll. Lex was spot on for recommending the Spicy Josh roll, it was delicious! The Green Beast roll is also a highly recommendable roll. The only roll I wasn’t too crazy about was the Crazy roll. After having the Spicy Josh roll and Green Beast roll, the Crazy roll just didn’t feel like it had enough kick to it. If I would have eaten all of the Crazy roll before I tried the other two rolls I probably would have been more crazy about it. The problem is that I kept interchanging between all the rolls.
