HORRIBLE. We checked in after driving for 10 hours, lured in by the photos of the place and too exhausted to bother ourselves with reviews. Being a smart individual, you have not yet made the same mistake. Learn from us.
As anyone would probably do after driving for 10 hours we brought our luggage into the room and began to unpack a bit, trying to relax into our new space for the evening. What any person who's traveling is probably going to do next is sit down on the bed (or sometimes in my case, flop onto it). This was our first indication that something was wrong. This could not have been the bed I thought, surely this must just be the floor only elevated off the ground. Oh no. After a thorough inspection of what mattress shenanigans were going on I quickly realized that probably no real sleep would be attained that night. Which is quite the problem when you've literally come somewhere to sleep.
Given this huge oversight in what should be obvious hotel accommodations, we began to check everything else out for ourselves. The fog of being in the car for so many hours had lifted to reveal a room that, while of a nice enough size, was anything but nice. The walls had holes in them, improperly patched in some places or completely left open in others. There was a cigarette burn in the couch of this supposedly non-smoking hotel room. The glasses had marks on them. There looked to have been coffee or some other sort of liquid splashed onto the painting in our room that had not only stained the canvas framing it but had dried in small droplets onto the painting itself, and clearly nobody had attempted to remedy the situation.
Now you may tell yourself that all of these things, while unpleasant seem like minor inconveniences if all we are hoping for is a place to sleep. Except for the obvious bed issue. But let me tell you, it gets worse from there. There was mold growing in places on the ceiling, the drawers were filthy, food residue was found in the mini fridge, and best of all when we opened the bedside table we not only found the bible that most hotels will provide, but also questionable used paper towels (dear God don't ask me what they were used for because I really don't want to go down that road). Oh yeah. And a cockroach. Now being a girl from the suburbs I'd never actually seen a cockroach before, so I was a bit stunned. But my partner, dear man that he is, knew that if there's one cockroach there's sure to be plenty more you don't see. Also, that they're very fast. By the time he grabbed his phone to take a picture of the thing to show to management, it was gone.
Now he gave me this look, and I'm sure my face looked equally as horrified. So he says to me "do you really want to stay here tonight?" in this tone of voice that's really saying "let's not". I was only too happy to grab my stuff from the room and put it back in the car as quickly as possible. We left the room basically the way we had found it, just the sheets turned back from our inspection into whether or not THOSE were filthy too (they didn't look it, but I honestly don't feel too comfortable about anything in that room).
So at this point it's been almost half an hour and we go back to the reception area, asking for a refund. I wasn't about to pay to NOT sleep there. We were told that because it had been 30 minutes, no refund. We tried to explain that nobody goes into a hotel room and immediately begins a health inspection. Then he countered that since we had "used the bed" we wouldn't be refunded. Checking the sheets is not a crime and I certainly didn't appreciate him implying that some sort of prostitution or other such activities had taken place. The creepy laugh that followed wasn't appreciated either. We come to find out this man is the manager and after arguing for almost an hour we left and stayed at the Holiday Inn down the street.
TLDR; Awful service. Disgusting rooms. Stay at the Holiday Inn. They're much nicer there and don't imply you're...
Read moreWell well well. I wasn’t going to leave a review, I was just going to let this issue be, but the disrespectful asian owner decided to take it upon him self to call me a liar and scream at me. So here we go. ||Upon checking into the hotel we were first locked out and had to sit in the cold until someone finally opened the door to check us in(the aforementioned Asian male, who is one of the mangers/owners). After checking us into our “deluxe jacuzzi room” we proceeded to go to our room and upon entering OMG, first the moldy smell of the room was bad but whatever it was bearable for one night. We then go to the bathroom as we had a long train ride and there quite literally was an infestation of bugs and ants all over.( I have pictures AND video evidence of this, but as far as I can see I can’t post them here. But if ANYONE would like to see them I will be posting them on my yelp review and hotels.com review cause I KNOW the racist owner is going to come on here and say im lying, so that is why I will include pictures, videos, as well as the information from my iPhone pictures showing my geographic location and time for the pictures so he can’t deny this happened)**||BUT WAIT IT GETS BETTER. So after seeing the infestation we packed up and went to the front desk. We KINDLY and politely informed him that we will not be staying the night as we found bugs in our room. The manager said “oh that’s fine I’ll get you another room” I replied, “no thank you. My wife wants to stay elsewhere. Thank you very much though. Have a good night” and we walked outside to wait for our Uber. After roughly 5 min wait the manager then came outside and proceeded to yell at me saying “I check the room, there no bugs”, I said sir, I have videos of it, I have zero reason to lie. The manager then said “let me see it” , I then Proceeded to show the man the video, and after it finished he said, and I can’t make this up lol “that’s no bugs, that’s just ants!” 😑I said sir, “ants are bugs” he then responded with, “yea but it’s just ants they don’t bite” ,😑 I then said “sir you’re missing the point, me and my wife paid for a room with no bugs, so again we will be staying else where”, he then went back inside and locked the door. I thought this situation was over…..nope lol I was wrong. 2 minutes later he then comes outside screaming and yelling saying “YOU LIAR! YOU LIE!! THERE NO BUGS!!LIAR!!” , I still stayed calm and said “ sir I showed you video, lol I’m not lying. We were nice and respectful and said we were just going to stay elsewhere” , he just kept screaming and then went inside and then came back out again and started screaming again calling us liars. We walked away and waited for our ride in the rain by the road.||||We contacted hotels.com and they tried to contact the hotel. The hotel REFUSED to acknowledge the incident happened and thus refused to refund us. But that’s why my family uses third party booking apps, because guess what, we still got our refund THROUGH hotels. So we won anyways. I will also contact every possible booking service to leave this review in hopes that other famlies don’t have to deal with the blatant disrespect, and just bold disarray of the hotel. ||||I would like to add that we left this hotel and booked a room at the NEW and beautiful LaQuinta just down the road from this crap place. ||||And again anyone wanting to see the video evidence, check yelp,Hotels.com,Expedia, everywhere I will be posting...
Read moreGod, I don’t even know where to begin. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO FEEL LIKE YOU’RE IN A CHEAP HORROR FILM.
We chose this place because it was a cheaper option and conveniently located in Morgan Hill. I didn’t read any reviews prior to coming, but I wish I had before we booked the hotel. Checking in wasn’t too bad, though it took a long time because the woman behind the desk was just typing and typing for so long, not even telling us what she was doing.
Then, on our way to find our room, we passed by what seemed to be the supply closet, and guys, I'm not exaggerating here. Towels, soaps, and other hotel supplies were all over the floor. It was insane, like a scene straight out of Hoarders but hotel edition.
So we went up to our room, and we, admittedly, enjoyed the vintage look of the room for all of, like, 5 minutes. That was before we realized just how dirty, musty, and disgusting it was. You can see them in the photos, but we saw a ton of stains, a missing microwave plate, dirty furniture, broken light bulbs in the chandelier, etc. We didn’t see bed bugs in the sheets (honestly, the highlight!). However, upon sitting on the bed for like 20 minutes, I got a couple of bites on my foot, so do with that information what you will.
Also, let me just say that this room was so off. The vibes in here were so creepy and eerie; I totally agree with that one review saying it felt like being in a low-budget horror film because it was so scary to be in. weird stuff happened that I’m a little scared to get into! We also heard weird noises coming from the bathroom, corners, etc. Usually I can only sleep in pitch-black rooms, but I had to leave all the lights on that I could (though it didn’t help that the lights were all motion-activated except for the weird, dirty lamps on the bedside tables). In addition, our neighbors had people knocking on the door and like arguing over money?
So, honestly, either save your money or spend a little extra to get a nice experience because of this hotel, trust the reviews, and also trust your gut because it was absolutely terrible and a...
