Hidden gem on the other side of the freeway in Morgan Hill. Extensive menu including Korean and Chinese dishes, in addition to the Phó and myriad Vietnamese choices. We've been twice so far and will keep coming back. Everything we've tried has been tasty and reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly. We look forward to trying another dish next time!
Update, removing two stars: Sadly, this place has gone downhill. I feel like they may have changed owners since the last review. The dining area hasn't been kept in good repair. There are paint chips and stains all over the walls, holes in the ceiling tiles, and grease on the window shades. Makes you wonder what it looks like in the food prep areas, where we don't see. The Korean / Chinese fusion dishes are less numerous and they focus almost exclusively on Vietnamese. This isn't necessarily a bad thing (love Vietnamese), but if you do this, you'd better make good Vietnamese food. I ordered the Pho Tai Chin Nam and the Tai was already pre-cooked in the broth (completely brown) instead of rare, red steak on top, as it should be. My wife ordered the chicken curry and instead of being a coconut milk-based curry, they used canned creamed corn. I'm guessing, because they ran out of coconut milk and thought we didn't know any better. It was oddly sweet, strange tasting and frankly, insulting. We should have sent it back but just wanted to get out of there. The waitress/hostess (possibly an owner) was kind and friendly, but based on the food coming out of the kitchen and the gross dining conditions, we're not likely to be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis version of Vietasia is vastly different. The new Vietadia has an extensive menu, but ask as not every dish is available. All in all, the "Big Bowl" of soup seems to be there speciality as this is where the flavors and subtly mixed spices shine! My table mate ordered orange chicken and remarked it was very salty. The atmosphere could use a lot of help. This day in January it was chilly outside and the restaurant especially in the back where we were seated was very cold. We sat with our coats on and were still uncomfortable. A couple of people who were seated after us asked to move to the passageway tables. The thermostat was nearby and the owner came over and looked at the temperature, but didnt turn it up. When we got up to leave the front entry area was full. The walls are painted a bright plant green that was chipped off quite badly in areas. Carpet on the floor was spotted and in need of cleaning, although the rainy weather Im sure contributed to it. We will give it another one more try later when the weather warms. Some heat and a friendlier attitude would go a long way to making the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is my kind of place. Family run shop making it work with their dedication and hard work. I wish I spoke Vietnamese to have better conversations with the whole work pool. But they are always so kind and communicative.
I love the special shrimp deep fried dish. I am a big fan of the Ox Tail Pho because the side dish with the Ox Tail bone is so tasty and I always introduce my friends and family when ever they are in town to this shop.
I love keeping the to go containers for left overs later on. Great to wash after using. And the store is always just a good time to sit and relax and enjoy the day.
Overall this is my go to for my dinner needs nearly all the time. So I can't say enough...
