The food was okay, and the waiters and waitresses were very friendly and attentive. However, we did have a rude encounter with the manager.
My friends and I came here with our three dogs. After placing our order, a nice family seated near us came over to greet the dogs, and they put a glass of water down for one of them. Of course, the dog immediately drank out of it. It was a standard sturdy glass you can find at most restaurants.
It was a slightly unexpected and awkward moment that happened so fast. This is also not something my friends and I would do at a restaurant, but we hadn't seen each other in a long time, so we were more focused on catching up.
When one of the waiters noticed, he picked it up and said he'll be back with plastic containers for the dogs. By then, the other family had left, and we had forgotten all about the glass on the floor.
A few moments later, the manager came by, slumped down to talk to us at eye level, and in a condescending tone, told us that the next time we come to their restaurant, not to use their water glasses to give our dogs water. We causally explained that it wasn't one of our glasses, and someone else at a different table had set it down. The manager did apologize, but it had already ruined the rest of the lunch for us. We're all in our 30s, and it felt weird to have been reprimanded like children. There are kinder ways of communicating with paying customers, especially over a standard restaurant glass. Even if we had decided to give the dog our cup (which we didn't), there are other ways to communicate or simply just recycle the glass. There won't be a "next...
Read moreThe wife and I stopped by here last Saturday for lunch after hearing people say how good the food is. I guess a lot of people must be comparing this place to Taco Bell if they think this is good Mexican food. I grew up in San Diego. I know good Mexican food and this place isn't it.
I ordered the Parillada which is listed as having steak, chicken and carnitas, served with rice and beans. Sounded like a combo fajita platter. I figured that I'd eat about half of it and then bring the rest home to enjoy later. When the food arrived it had what looked like about half of a chicken breast that had been pounded thin, about 1/8" thick. Along with a piece of what I assume was flank steak and a small serving of carnitas. The steak was the toughest piece of low quality meat I think I've ever had. The carnitas was bland and the chicken was dry.
Their Spanish rice had a weird flavor to it. Pretty much everywhere you go and get Spanish rice it tastes about the same, but not here. I don't know what they're putting on their rice but it isn't good. Not only that but all of the meat screamed of lime. I don't know if they just squeeze a buttload of lime juice on everything but it was extreme overkill. So I only ended up eating about half of the food and certainly not taking anything home.
Not only that but the service was terrible also. The waitress never checked up on us and...
Read moreHad an experience tonight that is most likely going to stop me from ever coming back. My wife, kiddo and I were enjoying a really good meal from one of the best servers we have had in a while. I don’t remember his name but the service he provided was truly memorable. My problem came when we were leaving the restaurant to go to our car. We were chased down by a female who accused us of dining and dashing. We let her know that we left cash on the table and she wasn’t appolegitic when she realized her mistake. It bugged me so much that I went back into the restaurant to speak to the manager. Low and behold the person that chased us to our car was the manager. She non authentically apologized when I called her out and then she tried to shut me up by offering me something free. I wanted nothing to do with anything free I just wanted to let her know that she single handedly ruined our experience. I’ve been in the restaurant biz for 20 years and the first thing you do is check the freaking table and don’t run one of your customers down and accuse them of theft. This left such a bad taste in my mouth that we are probably never coming back. If ownership reads this, we were dining the...
