A few years ago a flame was lit within me. I thought that over time this flame would die out, but that hasn't been the case at all. If anything it has gotten stronger. The flame I'm referring to is the desire to eat Indian food 24/7. I feel like every time I don't eat Indian food I'm just doing it for other people. If I was being my true authentic self I would never have any other food. The sad thing is, I don't even know how to make Indian food. You'd think if I like it so much, I'd just learn how to create that happiness for myself. Instead I rely on other people to give me that happiness. I think part of me is scared. When I learn how to make Indian food there is no going back. From that day forward I'm going to be eating Indian food for the rest of my life. While it sounds great to not rely on anyone else for my happiness, that's also a lot of Indian food. Maybe I need to find someone that loves making and eating Indian food just as much as me. Anyways, as of now I don't know how to make Indian food, so I rely on Tandoori Flames. It's the only Indian restaurant in Morgan Hill. Even if it wasn't good, I'd still go here. If I was stuck on an island with only one bad coconut tree, as bad as that coconut tree may be, I'm still getting coconuts from that tree. While Morgan Hill isn't an island, sometimes it feels like one when I don't want to drive to San Jose or Gilroy. Luckily, Morgan Hill is a good island to be stuck on because Tandoori Flames ain't bad. I'm not the biggest fan of their biryani, but their vegetable...
Read moreThis restaurant is truly outstanding and has quickly become one of my top recommendations for anyone craving authentic Indian food. From the moment we walked in, the experience felt welcoming and genuine. The ambiance sets the tone perfectly, offering a cozy and inviting environment where you can comfortably enjoy a meal with family or friends. What impressed me the most was the consistency of flavors — every dish tasted exactly the way authentic Indian food should.
We visited during the lunch buffet, and I must say it was easily one of the best buffets I have experienced in a very long time. The variety was remarkable, with options to suit every palate. Unlike many buffets where one or two items stand out, here every single dish was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The highlight for me was the paneer makhni, which was rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced. It truly showcased the chef’s skill in delivering authentic flavors.
The service added to the overall great impression. Our server was both polite and attentive, ensuring that drinks were refilled and plates cleared without ever being intrusive. This level of attentiveness made the entire meal even more enjoyable. Another small but delightful touch was the inclusion of hot chai as part of the buffet. It felt like the perfect finishing note to an already exceptional meal — warm, comforting, and absolutely authentic.
For anyone who enjoys flavorful, authentic Indian cuisine, this place is a must-visit. I highly recommend it and am already looking forward to...
Read moreTandoori Flames took my taste buds on a rollercoaster, and I'll definitely be riding again soon.
To start: you should know going in, the portions are enormous. One tandoori entree, an order of rice, and an order of naan is probably more than enough food for the average couple. I didn't know this, so I'll be enjoying leftovers for a while!
I started out with the samosas chaat; as someone relatively new to Indian food, I struggled to even comprehend the variety and complexity of flavors and textures. It was delicious. Order some naan on the side to enjoy what's left after you finish the samosas.
The chicken tikka and tandoori chicken were both excellent. The portions were enormous, and the sauces offered strong complimentary flavors. When I come back, I'll definitely order one tandoori entree and one curry, to balance out the wet-to-dry ratio, and give me more sauce for dipping naan.
The menu is large, but it's not intimidating; there are helpful explanations for every dish. If your spicy tolerance is low (like me), go for a refreshing mango lassi. But if you like spicy food, get one just because it tastes really good.
The restaurant was clean and comfortable, and the table had plenty of space to fill with dishes. My server did an outstanding job and took my experience to the next level. Quite honestly, it would be difficult for me to find a substantive critique of Tandoori Flames. I will be...
