Butch's Barbeque & Breakfast — Restaurant in Morganton

When we first moved here 2.5 years ago. I was so very excited to find a drive thru place that served diner like food. I especially love the Country Fried Steak and gravy. The option of the Green beans that had a slight smokey flavor and the HAND MADE, not out of a bag, Cheese sticks. BUT now the facility wants to become "easier" and "faster". Their speed was fine with all of this food and if you had to wait a bit extra for something it was worth it. Well now they have removed ALL of the items that I truly loved.

The most frustrating part was that you could not count on it being there next week. They took the beans off then they put them back then took them off again. Last week I was able to get their amazing Cheese sticks this week THEY NO LONGER SERVE THEM. Same thing with the Country Fried Steak, which by the way was some of the best I have eaten at ANY restaurant. INCLUDING full on diners.

My family and I and anyone else that I know that has ever purchased their food are now not going to bother returning. We have found other establishments that are more consistent AND the prices and food are more stable, and you can count on what is on the menu from week to week.

That is another frustrating thing. They still have the items they cancelled on their drive thru menu and perhaps their menu inside the restaurant as well. Gives you a thrill to see them until they say "WE NO LONGER SERVE THAT". Well you will no longer serve us either. Good luck with your conversion to the same fast food most of us try to avoid...

Lived here 15 years and never had tried Butch's chicken tenders. (Think I have only been to the drive-thru once many years ago-and it took forever and was pricey so I never returned) Been wanting chicken tenders for a while now so decided to try their curbside ordering. The ordering itself was easy. Ordered 8 tenders and added 1 more... and potato wedges. It said we would have it in 10 minutes. We waited and waited... employees flying thru the door to talk in the parking lot and take their smoke breaks. They saw us waiting there and just ignored us. Then they all seemed to walk off and leave, but one lady stayed inside to take care of the drivethru window. We looked and it was 37 min, so my husband decided to go in and see what was going on. There sat our order. For who knows how long. She did explain there was no honey mustard, so we get that part. No apology was made about our food sitting, but the poor lady seemed at the end of her rope from everyone leaving. But when we open it...it is missing the extra tender and the wedges were fries. Food was like lukewarm. The tenders lacked any flavor and were greasy. So...needless to say - we won't be coming back. If you are local or just passing thru...save yourself the time and sadness and just go to Carolina Legendary Smoke. And no, we aren't related to or have any friends who work there. The end. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BUTCH'S FOR ANY OCCASION!!

It's 4th of July and I get a text at 7:30am from my friend that said she would take care of all the food for our family and friend gathering today that says she has been up all night sick and can't make it. It's last minute and I need to figure out how I will feed everyone coming to our house in just a few hours.

I drive to Butch's, which is where I usually order all our food for the 4th and other family gatherings, because it's so good! I saw one person running the front (Dena) and 1 person running the kitchen (Eric). I told them my situation knowing they were going to be slammed today with walk-ins and catering orders. They both were so amazing! They figured out a way to prepare all the food I needed! They said just come back in a couple hours and they would have it ready for me! I knew I was asking too much of them, and they still did everything in their power to accommodate me, and they did it with such kindness and care!

Thank you to Eric and Dena for making this day special for my family, friends, and me. It would have been a hard and stressful day trying to figure out how to cook everything last minute. I see how hard they work and how they will do everything in their power to meet your needs. I love me some Butch's BBQ! We will always refer folks your way and order our BBQ and chicken from you all!!! So very grateful, from the bottom...
